I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish with your test, but it's no surprise that when testing a precision instrument with string, wood, lag bolts, a satellite view, GPS, and a construction plumb, it doesn't come out like you expect. It's much more reasonable to take that scope and use it...
Maybe you just don't understand what MOA means.
I just really think you are functioning 15 years ago.
At least you dumped your RRA in favor of a BCM. Say, um... so who do you think the 3 most knowledgable people associated with BCM would be on the subject of AR15s. I would say Pat...
It's not about coolness or neccessity. I'm not sure where you're getting your information. The midlength gas system offers a softer pulse, possibly less felt recoil, and longer sight radius (using standard FSB.) Please don't be one of those people that poo-poos an idea or concept just because...
If you mean the charging handle (the T-shaped handle behind the rear sight) you don't need to worry. It locks in place and is not a reciprocating part. You will find that some people shoot the AR15 with their nose touching the charging handle.
Maybe I should have said whiney. I understood the point to be locating a forum to suit your needs besides ARFCOM, but if you were just looking for an excuse to launch into how difficult and confusing a site that right this minute has 12K people on it is, then, my bad...
Carry on...
Despite the kids, the technical knowledge on ARFCOM can be impressive. I also look to Lightfighter. This site is fine, but there is are too many Fudds that want to tell you that your AR is inferior to their all-steel rifle from WWI and that the M16 they carried in 'Nam was made by Mattel and...
Are they all the same brand, type? All mags are not created equal.
As an example, 20rd Pmags have a known issue with locking back on some rifles. This should be mitigated with the 3rd gen (M3) mags, but I'm not sure those have even shipped yet.
Two boxes of .380: 3 failures to fire, one failure to feed. Guns were Keltec and Kahr.
Six boxes of 9mm: 1 failure to fire. Guns were Glock and M&P.
One box of 9mm: around 10-15 failures to feed. Gun was Glock.
All of it: nasty. Seemed (subjectively) dirtier than the usual WWB, PMC, etc...
I was at a gun show a couple weekends ago, and I noticed Ruger was making 22/45 pistols with a factory threaded barrel. On a lark, I got one, and so now I've got a couple questions...
1) Are the removable grip panels interchangable with standard 1911 grip panels?
2) I found information on...
John, thanks for that info. Hadn't considered the repeat offender angle.
Also, can you clarify what the 26% that wasn't considered "clearly negligent" is?
SWAT magazine did a feature on the Judge. Predictably, it didn't perform well with either .410 or .45lc. The .45lc didn't group well, and the .410 patterned in a donut shape. Everyone says what a great snake gun it would be, but the author made a point to mention that at typical snake-killin'...
Hey how about that. Do they take actual 1911 grips, or are they a proprietary shape? Seems there is some strange bobtail-esque contour towards the rear at the bottom.
So Tacsol sells a great barreled receiver for the 22/45, and Volquartsen sells just about any internal part you need, but there doesn't seem to be a readily available grip frame. Most people I know use a donor gun for the Tacsols, but that seems like a bit of a waste, as the receiver is the...
