My 41 Spl is a 6-shot GP100, originally with 38 Special throat lengths, perfect for 41 Spl, done by Clement, who I don't think is doing those anymore. I had to back off to a pretty mild load, because 41 Spl in a 3" GP100 was pretty uncomfortable (think bruising). The grips are Herrett's Detective.
Unique is not a slow burning powder (magnum), so in strong doses will give the shooter more of a jolt than a real magnum powder. I don't use it above target level power.
In context, it frames the idea of 357 being a lighter weight gun, especially in double action where medium frames are more common for the 357. Consider that sometimes private messaging is a better way to respond. The High Road is supposed to minimize bullying.
This would not be the first thread...
The 45 Colt will typically be larger and heavier than a .357. I am not a fan of Ruger having chamber diameters significantly larger than bore diameter. Approach that carefully, taking nothing for granted. The .357 would be fine if 38 Special would serve most circumstances. The .357 is terribly...
I don't know that I would be laughing, but am pretty sure I wouldn't be looking to take a second shot. I reload, so my 44 Mag SBH Bisley gets a load I like to shoot. I have NO motivation to see how hot a load I can shoot or what velocity contest I might win.
I wonder if the O-ring is missing if leaking that badly. Look at the screw-in cap. Order a set of drums so that you get the latest in the finish on the face of the drums. It is an improvement for fine powders.
I had an older convertible 7 1/2" NMBH and never fired the 45 ACP cylinder. I have good 1911s for that. I took the convertible just to get the 45 Colt part. I never solved the leading issue with a .451 bore and .454 chambers and sold the gun full disclosure in order to try something else.
Detectives here open carry with a badge hung by the holster. My single encounter was to observe a snub worn with a trucked in shirt, well dressed but casual, entering a restaurant. We felt safer.
In South Carolina open carry is only available to concealed weapon permit holders, consistent with the training requirement for a CWP. The reaction here is that more places now prohibit firearms upon entry, concealed or not, as our law allows.
Except for a gang of 38 Specials and a pair of 45 Colt CAS guns, I am down to one gun in each cartridge I load and not thinking about selling any of them. The standout though is the S&W 19-4 nickel plate, 4". I am very selective about what I shoot in it, but every load is in 357 brass. It is...
I had shot a few matches with 38 Long Colt in my 38 Special. After reading this thread I tried soaking the chambers for 15 minutes with swabs of Slip2000 and then wire brushing for a pretty good result. Slip2000 is not kind to bronze brushes, so the chambers were well wiped before brushing.
