several months ago I picked up a Uberti Schofield in .45 Colt .
When I got it I had 3 boxes of shells. 1 box Winchester fmj. 250 grn , 1box factory cowboy loads 250 grn flat lead nose and 1 box factory cowboy load 200 grn lead flat nose.
No matter what I tried it always shot about 3 inch high...
To make a long story short, I was in a old John boat out on our pond back on October 31.
Boat got flipped. Among other things I had my Pietta 1860 .44 with 5inch bbl.
I have always used the eraser end of a pencil to “ seat “ the caps.
Gun was under water less than a minute. When I got on land I...
i picked up a Rossi ( Taurus ) 92 big loop model lever in .38/.357 16 inch. A few years ago. It has been super reliable with any ammo and just a pleasure to shoot. They sold really well but they just disappeared. Outside of maybe 1 or 2 at a gun show your out of luck. So what happened ? Would...
Just picked up a Uberti Schofield 5 inch in .45 Colt. Imported by Cimarron. Love the gun but years of shooting Rugers, Colt and Remington clones makes the grip of the Schofield seem really off.
How long did it take to used to the Schofield or did you ever. I want this to be my “keeper” 6 gun.
Several years ago some buddies and I got into IDPA shooting we all had 1911's and eventually started to reload. We cast our own bullets from lead wheel weights in 45 caliber which worked great. Very little or no leading. So we tried it with 9 mm and the result was a lot of leading in the barrel...
a few weeks ago I picked up a nice S&W 629 3 inch. Gun came with nice rubber grips
I decided it needed the short wood boot grip from Midway and they look sweet. However the recoil is HORRENDOUS . But I knew that going into the .44 mag game. anyway grips are a perfect fit no trimming and no...
I’m looking for a rubber set of boot grips the ones that are flat on the bottom for a round butt N frame Smith & Wesson 629. Any ideas and part numbers for Hogue or Uncle Mike or whoever. Thanks.
ok, I have a 1949 Ithaca 37 that was gave to me. The gun set for lord knows how long in a closet. The barrel and receiver have turned a nice plum- ish color with very light surface rust in spots. Wood is old but nice looking with no cracks anywhere. I love the old 37s my very first 12ga one...
was recently given a INA revolver by a elderly neighbor . Now before we get started I know the INAs are not well thought of but this was free and I need a project to work on while this Coronavirus stuff keeps me working from home. The gun is in .32 cal and looks to be in excellent condition ...
ok when talking about blowback pinned barrel guns what would happen if the pin was removed ? Pressure builds up in chamber, round starts moveing and recoil is created. So the round should drag the barrel forward. since the recoil should mostly be directed against the breech face the only real...
I know it’s probably been ask before but could someone post a picture of a Polish P64 on top of a FEG R61 or vice-versa to show which is shorter ? Thanks guys.
Just picked up a very nice Bauer .25 S/S at the gun show yesterday . It is in excellent condition. Gun functions fine but I don’t know much about them. Is this the gun that later became the one being made by PSA ? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Picked up a Zastava M70. For those of you who have held one you know she is made from a big chunk of steel. I would like to make a hotter load for it where I would end up with something like a +p+. So can someone suggest a fairly warm load to start working with ? I would like to use a heavy FMJ...
just seeing if anyone has checked their M70 ( Zastava single action ) pistol to see if the fireing pin is free floating or “live” meaning protruding when the hammer is down or at rest. Checking mine with the slide off it doesn’t appear to extend pass the breach face when I push it from the...
Local pawn shop has a very good to excellent S&W 629-6 2.5 bbl I can get for $690
Or
S&W 19 Nickel plated. Didn’t see what dash but the fireing pin was on the hammer .Action is in great shape but a scarred finish looks like it was pocket or bouncing around in a car console most of its life...
I gotten to the age that I pretty much have the main handguns I want as far as practical use like home defense , CC , hunting , range and what not. So I’m kind of on a kick to replace some of those I wish for one reason or another , I had kept. First up is a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 snub. Back...
Just picked up a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 in SS.
The SS is matt finish and has that “ dull “ look.
Anybody ever tried to polish this type of finish by hand ?
Got a steel frame Pietta 1860 bought it new about 3 or 4 years ago. Don’t shoot it that much but it does see some use. It keeps breaking the trigger/bolt spring and it’s always the bolt leg of the spring. Usually get around 2 or 300 shots befor it breaks. Gun functions great with a good lock up...
