B.O. offers much easier to get components, powder usually availability in a shortage, castable bullets, 5.56 mags and bolts, quieter non-suppressed, and widest variety of bullets. seems superior for anything but 200+ yard target shooting.
The BO is a great reloader round. I do not recommend it...
You're never going see a post WW1 firearm damaged from a few thousand PSI. The brass will show it. Failed primer pockets are the big indicator. Sticky bolts can happen, but in 5.56 you'll probably never notice. But if it does fail for any reason, the manufacturer will have a blown out 5.56...
If I knew you could buy a full blown Walther PPK only with a higher standard of finish for $180 new back in the early 2000's I would have bought 20. Mine is an APK in .380 acp, maybe a waste since I load 9mak anyway for a PA-63. FEG made some incredible pistols.
I must add mine are very...
Obviously the existence of an access code should be a deal breaker for 100% of the population.
Changing an electric code is simple enough that its almost universal. If Liberty gave out only the original code, I suppose I wouldn't blame them, but if some secret factory access code exists, then...
I use a Leupold Marksman 3X9 on my Savage MKII. Its not really hi-power but some would say its unnecessary.
It has good light, and very clear lines. I use it at 50 yards.
I like seeing a target clearly even at relatively short ranges. Its makes 200 shot single hole groups fun.
The...
maintenances depends on what you mean. I've ran 1911's so dirty that the solid carbon buildup gets so heavy it ejects and hits me hard enough to hurt.
I've ran a 9mm AR so dirty that it shot 3' to the left from the flash hider building up.
In the case of the pistol, hand fitting, periodic...
The first gun show I ever went to in Puallup Wa had a sign banning guns. This was at the end of the line at the admission point. I told them I had one and they only asked me to unload it in front of them. I wasn't required to hand anything over, they just asked me to keep it unloaded during the...
there comes a point where the inherent risk outweighs the benefit.
Even the skyjack/terrorist risk can't compare to the accidental discharge risk on a plane.
Image a bullet through hydraulic line, jammed in a jackscrew, the head of the pilot, or a fuel system part flying 500 miles in the...
FEG is a quality manufacturer.
The incredible DA pull is as bas as they say. Mine was 64lbs. Not exaggerating, actually measured.
SA was about 16lbs.
Recoil is significant, very harsh, sharp and snappy.
BUT a Wolf PPK hammer spring made the DA pull 16lbs, and the SA pull about 6.
Reloading...
fired brass will almost always accept a bullet easily unless there is something wrong with the gun.
Sized brass will not.
No real need to resize if already done.
Trim lengths can be dangerous in rifles and necks get dented so i always fully reprocess rifle brass regardless of condition.
I've...
For what its worth I did save money for the first 10 years. I got my first press, dies and accessories and shot the exact amount I had been for years. The equipment paid for itself in about 6 months. After 10 years I probably am not saving money, but at this point I just wouldn't be shooting...
I currently am paying the following prices
.308 -50c/round (jacketed)
5.56 -25c/round (jacketed)
9mm -11c/round (cast bullet)
45 colt -11c/round (cast bullet)
300bo -15c/round (cast bullet)
8mauser -12c/round (light load, cast bullet)
Prices are inflated now, and who knows if they'll go...
I can't answer your question but I will say that my 9mak brass gets a gouge from a triangle file in the rim. Easy for me to find and anyone who picks it up and reuses it with clear damage is an idiot.
