I have a SRH in 454 Casull , I think the grip is better on the SRH and the trigger is also better ! As was mentioned the integral scope mounts are a big advantage also ! If I wanted a .44 mag or .45 colt in 4 inch for woods carry I would go with the Redhawk but for hunting as a primary arm...
My defensive revolvers have fixed sights with tritium front bead , my gp 100 has the factory ruger adjustables with red insert on front , my Ruger SRH 454 sports a red dot from Millet ! Kevin
Since she has made up her mind already about something she has little to no knowledge of:rolleyes: , I would tell her to do whatever she likes , a .22 is a lot better than nothing ! Maybe your next girlfriend will have her own gun? Kevin :D
Wow you guys really took this thread and ran with it ! there is a lot of information here ! First let me say that i am not an experienced horseman at all ! the idea for this came to me as I was picking my way through some very thick cover that was only accessible at all because a swamp buggy...
The thing about mobs is that none of them want to be the first one to be shot !I would have to do something ,or never look my kids in the eye again or face myself in the mirror ! This is one of the few times I might think of drawing without shooting immediately.! I am thinking ,drawing standing...

I have several ! Some are posible , some are just dreams ! M-1 Garand national match , A Sharps Rifle in .45-90 or .50- 100 , An American made double rifle in .458 Win. with an extra set of barrels in .375 Mag with an aperature type rear sight, and a weaver rail to mount a quick disconnect...
You guys are a wealth of information ! Dogrunner you are right on the money about Florida WMAs I check things out before I commit . I was just thinking I would rather have a horse than a swamp buggy ,I really have never seen horses perform in the type of terrain we have down here either , It...
I quit using the sights so much for defensive shooting ! for bullseye I had a pair of glasses made with close vision in dominate eye and distant in the other !
Kevin
What made me consider it , is that the cover is so thick down here in south Florida that most of the successful hunts for deer and hogs seem to be a result of hunting from the top of a swampbuggy ! I was thinking that you might be able to shoot from horseback ! I was thinking more about using...
I was wondering if anyone hunts from horseback any more ? If they do , how do you train a horse not to bolt at the sound of the shot ? Or do they just go deaf after a few shots without ear protection ? Kevin
Try using the pass and shoot method! Swing your gun form behind the bird with your check welded to the stock and both eyes open , as your bead overtakes the flying bird ,pull the trigger ! It is important to keep the gun swinging through the shot !For incoming shots , start your swing...
plus1
Plus 1 on the white vinegar ! I would think that if it had been in a fire that the springs would lose their tension ? Wouldn't that be a telltale ? Kevin
