I just saw this video where Michael Janich points out that disabling shots to the hip / lower torso region are safer to bystanders. Thoughts?

Bet I got your attention with that subject :what:
I'm interested in sealing the caps onto the nipples better for loaded storage. I've heard of people using nail polish, but it seems that would make cleaning even harder.
What about hot wax? Will it set off the cap? I'm thinking of using a...
I'm looking for a bag that can be used as a diaper / toddler accessories bag that has a good method of carrying a full-size handgun. I've seen the MaxPedition stuff, anything else? Bonus points for pink camo :p I have a daughter.
If anyone has used a MaxPedition I'd be interested in which model...
Unfortunately some of us have to go through New York state to get to the rest of the country. I read somewhere that firearms are covered by the "Safe Passage Act" but that magazines are not. Does anybody know details?
What about non-firearms such as knives and muzzleloaders? Many locking...
Something I started thinking about tonight was that if you give an opponent an "out", once they realize they've messed with the wrong guy they'll take off. They won't be fighting to survive, they'll have an option to stay out of trouble.
I'm not talking about waving a gun around, which is...
I'm looking to get a flintlock for target shooting and deer. Probably a Lyman Deerstalker with a 1 in 48 twist so I can use both round balls and conicals.
I'm trying to decide between .50 and .54. I like the idea of putting a bigger wallop on a deer with the .54, but I also like the idea of...
Anybody know a good source for a holster for a ROA that has a flap over the top to keep rain out? Leather or synthetic, doesn't matter how it looks, it's just for the woods.
I noticed today that the caps could easily come into contact with the frame of my ROA where it has two points on either side of the cutout for putting on caps. I think I'll put on some heavy gloves and do some experimenting with empty capped cylinders next time I have it out. Does anybody know...
Most shotguns I've seen for sale are $700 plus. Anybody know of anything for $500 or preferably even much less? I don't need anything fancy, I just want to make some smoke and move some pellets.
I was out scouting around this evening and got to thinking about getting one with my ROA sometime. I'm not good enough with it yet for this season, but I'd love to hear about other folks getting deer with their Ruger Old Army. :)
Has anybody changed the sights on their ROA? What options are there? I think the ROA uses the same sights as other Rugers but I'm not sure exactly which models.
I'm interested in finding a decent bow for shooting targets and learning the fundamentals. Probably just a traditional recurve or something similar. I know very little about bows. I'd likely shoot it left-handed.
Any suggestions?
I put 18 cylinders through my ROA yesterday. Shooting targets so loaded light - 25g of 3F 777 under round ball. I was using a loading press so I was pulling the cylinder to reload, which probably helped clear some crud. It got hard to cock after about a dozen cylinders, so I spit on the sides of...
I'm thinking of hanging a piece of 1/4-1/2" steel to shoot at so I can hear the hits. Seems like I shouldn't have to worry about ricochets with non-jacketed lead bullets and balls, right?
Does anybody know of bigger wood grips for the ROA? The stock ones are much too small for my hands. I know there's some Pachmayr grips that are bigger than stock, but I'd really like to keep the classic look of wood.
Anybody know where I can get conicals that have been cast with the Lee mold http://leeprecision.com/xcart/MOLD-D-C-456-220-1R.html ?
I'm having some creep with the DD-ROAs that I've been shooting, and I want to see if the Lee stays put better.
