    22mag reliability

I started shooting .22 magnum ammo in the early 1970s and have used a bunch of it since. I can recall having several misfires in both a revolver and a rifle. The misfires were all with Winchester Dynapoint ammo, which is one reason I stopped buying it. I don’t recall having an issue with any...

Looking for advice on 55 grain 223 bullets

I've had good luck with these Speer TNT bullets. I'm pleased with their accuracy. You can get bulk packs of 1,000 in 50 and 52 gr and they make a 55 gr but I'm not sure it's available in the 1,000 rd packs. https://www.natchezss.com/speer-sp-22cal-50gr-hp-tnt-1000bx-sp4705...

I've found my Buck Big Sky knives to be the best for me.

    Thermal targets?

I drew a plus sign on cardboard with a felt pen then pasted thin strips of tin foil on top of the lines I drew. I left a gap in the foil where the lines intersected in the center so I could fine tune my group using my spotting scope. My target resembled a duplex reticle with the thick portion of...

    Opinions, Rocky Mountain Reloading bullets

I really like RMR bullets. I have been using them for a long time. I just tried some RMR 9MM brass and so far I like it a lot. It's very well made and consistent. It's a pleasure to load. I'll buy more when Jake has it available again.

    Dillon customer service complaint

My RL450 came with two plastic primer pickup tubes with brass fittings. I think that was around 1980 or so. I am still using those plastic tubes because I prefer the brass fitting to the newer plastic ones. It's faster and easier to use. I wish they would start offering tubes like that again.

    TX22 Slide slide tear down.

I shot my neighbor’s TX22 a while back and was impressed by the accuracy and reliability of such an inexpensive pistol. It caused me to re-think my low opinion of Taurus products. I even put a TX22 on my watch list in case a good deal came up. I’ve since changed my mind after seeing this post...

    Decline of the American Rifleman

Might as well show off the 357SIG's

The Hogue Extreme series G10 grips are lower profile and will slim it down so it's more acceptable. They make quite a difference on P226 as well. They are a bit pricey but they do make a difference.

We could always tell when the berries were ripe by the number of woodchucks in the road. Apparently the berries ferment in their system and turn into alcohol.

    New Rifle Day! (Howa Mini)

I was very pleased with the accuracy of mine after I inherited it. My barrel isn’t marked so I called the factory rep who told me it was a 1 in 9 twist. I’m not so pleased with the stock but I haven’t found an economical replacement yet. A good stock with bottom metal costs more than the rifle...

    Charter Arms quality

My sole experience with CA was to own one of their AR7 rifles. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate it a minus 14. It was poorly machined and fit was substandard. I tried every brand of ammo I could find in it but it just wouldn't function properly with any brand. In a side by side comparison...

I have finally found something my CharterArms AR7 Explorer II is actually good for ....

The Armalite made AR7 rifles I've had have been 100% reliable while the Charter Arms version of the rifle which I briefly owned was a poorly made POS. The design of the AR7 rifle is OK. The Charter Arms rifles were poorly machined and just didn't fit or work properly. I would imagine the same is...

    CCI Standard - CCI Blazer

I've gotten surprisingly good accuracy with the CCI coated ammo in some of my rifles and pistols. Not all my guns like it though. In my experience, accuracy will either be outstanding or mediocre. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground.
