I am going to load some 243 for my daughter. Going to load Hornady 100 gr SP. Powders I have are R19 and IMR 4064. Which would be the better powder for the 100 gr bullet? Thanks
Back in 1980 someone broke into my house and stole all my guns. I lost a S&W 19, Ruger MK1, Winchester model70, Browning BAR, Browning pump and a browning 2000. Guns were all they took. I had an idea who did it but could never prove it.
Teach I reload9mm for about $5 a box so thats$100 a thousand. I know that $150 for a thousand 22s is an extreme but I can't find any 22s around here at any price. I refuse to pay these inflated prices so I will just shoot more 9mm than 22.
The 995 carbine is next on my list to buy. It's cheaper to shoot 9mm any more than 22 lr. I saw on Armslist today a fellow wanted $150 for a 1000 rounds of Winchester M22.
Haven't seen a hi point thread for awhile so I thought I would start one. Local farm store had C9s on sale so I bought one just to see what they were like. First impression was this gun is heavy for no bigger than it is. I took it apart and cleaned it and it seems to be well built. I loaded up...
I had one that was in worse shape than this one in the pictures. took it apart cleaned iy up with emery cloth and steel wool gave it a coat of paint and have been using it for the last 3years
Thanks for the information. I got a good deal on the 6 1/2s so I bought them when I bought the rifle. $26 dollars a thousand. Bought 3000. Should have done some more research before I bought them. Looks like I can use them in my 38s and 9mm though. I load light lead bullet loads in both so I...
I bought some Rem 6 1/2 small rifle primers to start loading 223 for an AR I just purchased. I then came across a warning from Rem about not using them in an AR. My question is do I have 3000 primers I can't use or can they be used if I don't load to the maximum, which I don't do anyway? Can...
Thinking of getting a Hi Point 9 mm carbine and was wondering if I am going to have to use a stouter load in it than I am in my pistol or will my plinking laods work in the carbine too. I am loading 4.2 gr of W231 under a lead 122 gr TC bullet for my pistol. All I really want to do with the...
I took up Cowboy Action Shooting this year. I have been using Clays powder for the shotgun and for the 38special loads. Can I use ClayDot instead of Clays without changing anything? If I'm loading 2.9 gr of Clays in the 38 sp can I use 2.9 gr of ClayDot? Alliant doesn't show any loading data for...
WE are going through the same thing except we are doing the opposite. We are going from motorcycles back to shooting. In our younger days I hunted, shot trap, fished then we decided to buy some Harleys. Have rode them for the last 15 years and it just doesn't hold the appeal any more that it...
I have a RCBS single stage now and I am looking to buy a progressive or turret press for handgun loading (9mm and 38 sp). Are the Hornady and RCBS presses that much better than the Lee? I am going to shoot about 500 to 700 a month of 38s would I be better off with a progressive over the turret?
I too have the 970SS6. I bought it new last summer . No complaints here except the DA trigger pull. Could be a little lighter in my book. I have put about 500 rounds through it so far with no problems. My wife can pick off empty shotgun shells from 10 yards with it.
I bought a Taurus Tracker 970SS last fall. I've put about 500 rounds through it so far with no problems. SA trigger pull is alright but the DA is pretty stiff. Over all I like the gun.
Well I bought the 970SS today. The wife held it and the Ruger Single Six and preferred the 970. Got it home and took it to the backyard and I must say I was impressed with its accuracy and trigger pull right out of the box. Even the DA pull isn't bad. She was knocking down steel plates with it...
