I transferred a very nice 1907 to a C&R friend in Oregon. The hammer was
jammed, and when he took it apart he found a a broken "roller" on the hammer
and that would not allow the sear to disengage from the hammer. I assume he
needs only the roller but he may need a hammer, too. Any idea where...
I'm looking at an LA22 Erma Luger .22 at $200. Between the Erma and the competing Stoeger one of them had problems with soft metal but I can't remember which.
Can anyone give me an opinion on the quality of the Erma Luger .22?
Thanks, Herb
I'm trying to determine when a K22 with s/n K 308301 was made so I know if it qualifies as a C&R or not. The original K22 was made between 1931 and 1940 so that would be C&R. Then the Model 17 K22 Masterpiece came out again from 1986-1994 and that would not be C&R. A s/n lookup should set things...
I fired a "new to me" M1907 .380 Husky, basically a Browning 1903 design, twice recently, the first time cleaning only the barrel without removing the slide, the second time removing the slide and barrel but nothing more.
On reassembly the trigger won't trip the hammer. I think this has...
I just got a DAO pistol framed revolver with manual safety or, if you prefer, a DAO revolver with a pistol frame and a manual safety. I believe it was made by Francisco Arizmendi of Spain for the German market as it is similar to a Geco (Genshow & Co) model on page 154 of the excellent Zhuk's...
I just received an auction win, a Forehand and Wadsworth .38, further
identified as a DA Automatic. The sales text said the SA would not function
but probably could be fixed, indicating it was DA/SA originally. I was
willing to accept the lack of SA function against a future fix. However the...
My return to the Beretta GIPA archive site reminded me I need to know when the 318 becomes a 418.
I have two Beretta vestpockets, one with concave grip safety I call a 318, the other with convex grip safety I call a 418. Those are my calls for my convenience. Both are beauties but the Gipa...
The Italian site I've enjoyed using to look up facts and photos of old Beretta pistols seems to have been bumped from its free website 1/17/04 and no new site is mentioned. It was:
http://gipa.virtualave.net/start.html
It was terrific site except for a horde of popups but they were no worse...
Hi fellow firearms fans,
Good site promoting the sale of M14's vs the government scrapping them.

Hey Bad Bad and Badger Arms,
I'm continuing the discussion of Beretta .25 vest pockets here as the topic has now shifted to the 1919 Patent Berettas from model 1919 through models 318 and 418. Here is another very useful German site on Vest Pocket Pistols. Near the end it lists the Berettas...
Hi Fellow THR'ers,
I saw a nice T-58 or m-58 9mm at a dealer's table today. I held off buying
as I had no sense of how this pistol came to be or what sort of reputation
it has.
I assume its in the Tokarev T-33 family. It had a "hammer and sickle" stamp
on the left side and I recall the...
Hi High Roaders,
The Harrisburg show was all I hoped it would be. Within 5 minutes of entering the door I ID'ed 5 or 6 items I wanted to keep track of as possible purchases. Of course the reality was I might buy 1 or 2 but, with choices, good choices are made. I walked the floor for 3 hours...
Hi THR'ers,
I'm off for another trip, this time driving from Memphis to Batesville AR in the Ozarks. Nothing will be open Thanksgiving Day as I drive in but I have hopes for Friday and Saturday around Batesville and on the way to and from Mountain View.
If there are any good places for...
I'm getting off an Amtrak train in South Bend Monday morning 11/17, meeting my sister there and driving her car west to Chicago, then returning on Thursday, Nov 20. I'd like to visit any good gun shops along the way, especially any that would have milsurps or C&R's.
I might be able to cross...
