If you had to choose between these two calibers for a carry revolver, which would you choose and why?

Would you guys shoot steel through a Merkel model 8 side-by-side? If the chokes were opened up to Imp Cyl or Mod and the forcing cones lengthened. Shot size no larger than 3.
