There are a lot of great solutions here. Than you everyone for contributing. The longest anything sits is the long range guns that only come out once or twice a year (So Far). Even the not so fired pistols see the range every 3 months or so. I was more worried about shooting something on monday...
When I shop at the local WAL-Mart for ammo they have to ask if your 22lr is for a pistol or a rifle if its for a rifle you have to be 18, 21 for the pistol. Really its nothing more than a honor system but its to comply with state laws saying you have to be 21 to purchase pistol ammo.
I went through this a few months ago.
I went with the DSA fluted 16" mid length upper 300.00 (mil discount even if you out)
Young Manufacturing BGC
Palmetto arms Mil spec lower and MOE build kit.
All together it was about 700.00
I have a 1/2 MOA gun that runs like a champ. After the...
I grew up in NY with one shotgun that got cleaned and wiped down with CLP on the rare occasion it was shot. I moved to AZ and wound up adding several rifles and pistols to my collection. Same drill.
Now I'm gonna be moving to where its more humid, very humid actually. Will this still protect...
They ran overnight in the tumbler but there was about 20 left with a mix of lube and powder in the base. A little jab with a pik and it came right out. Definitely going to stick with jacketed on a single stage for a while. On the bright side I recovered a little over 1k pcs of virgin brass
Yeah, last week I was ordering some stuff then I added primers to the cart because all my local shop had was flat Federal's. Shipping doubled, I took them out and a week later the local shop got CCI back in stock. Story had a happy ending butI was just curious though.
Had a similar incident last week with Lee dies and a RCBS trimmer. Turned out the case mouth was too small for the pilot. Finally I said the hell with it and loaded them anyway. They shot fine.
I started with a Hornady LNL Ap, Stepped down to a RCBS Partner after an unfortunate accident. Now that I know a little more I'm thinking about a Rock Chucker.. maybe someday I'll dust off the Hornady again but I have a lot of learning to do
the cases were new Star line brass. The reason I pulled them was my friend that got me started reloading well before I came here helped me set up the progressive press and we made these. Before I ever shot any he came over and made a couple hundred for himself. He wound up blowing up his gun...
The tumbling helped in the end i had a few that were still cruddy. I took a pik and broke the chunks up and tossed them back in the tumbler. I'm going to leave the tumbler running over night check them in the morning. The things I do to save money :(
I just pulled 700 or so cast bullets to salvage the brass. There is a blue ring of lube around the inside of the cases. I tried tumbling them first worked on some not others. I have the tumbler set out in the sun now hopefully heat will help (105* today).
Anybody else ever run into this? Is...
