A fasinating history of some popular powders going back 100+ years

Some time ago, our very own "Klausman" wrote an incredible history on powders... specifically, early smokless powder. His article covers some that I'm sure you will recognize and be surprised at not only how old they actually are, but their transition through the years! I consider this writeup...

    Steves Pages news...

Greetings all! As many of you may recall, I assumed responsibility of StevesPages after Steve passed away, so as not to have the website perish. It is still alive and well. I am writing this today as an FYI that I am making some changes there in admirable traffic. Of late I have found many...

    Finally, updates at StevesPages!

I finally got a bunch of new manuals and literature posted. Time has been so short of recent. Rather than editing the menu system each time there is a new manual I get, I've decided to put them in a browsable folder. It's linked off the home page and can be found here...

Mods, please let this ride as I'm sure you know that Steves pages was related. Steves Pages is down. It has now either been let to expire or perhaps Steve has passed on. In any case, God bless you Steve for the information you collected and published for all! If you've passed, RIP my...

    Lee dies on a Dillon

I just acquired a set of 10mm Lee dies so I don't have to reset my dies when going from .40 to 10mm. My press is a 550b. Not being familiar with Lee stuff, I'm guessing that...

    Night sight replacements!!!

I have a GP100 4" that has a Trijicon front tritium sight. I also has a Glock G22 and it has a Meprolight front sight. Both are 12-14 yrs old and getting VERY dim. I've been looking at ways (including buying fresh after-market tritium tubes) to bring these tired warriors back to life...

    Dillon brass feeder and operation

Three videos of a 500b Dillon in action (short) Owned this brass feeder since I bought the press.. Never setup until yesterday due to ceiling height. Removed "strong mount" to achieve lowered position. Please forgive the sideways shot in vid 2 and the stated function of station one as the...

    GP100 shimming

Have a wonderful polish now on trigger parts. I know what shimming will do as far as tightening tolerance on hammer and reducing scratch marks on the side of the hammer from frame rub... What else will it give me? Thanks, Ex

    auto bullet feeder

Just saw this today and called the inventor... he's here in Az. Had a nice chat. I'm looking at adding his "mrbulletfeeder mini" to my 550b. Cost about $150 to get setup. Watch the vie and see what you think. Shows it running on a 1050 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynFXBK6A3Qk

    American Derringer pin

Have an AM derringer with an existing .357 Mag barrel on it that somehow ended up with a gouge straight down it's length. Have acquired a replacement barrel for it in .45C/.410. Question... These things have a pretty solid pin at it's pivot point. Has anyone ever removed one of these? I put...

    American Derriger

Any body have one of these? I have a really low milage (probably 25 shots) Model 1, in .357 mag from them. I have been unable to contact them. They have a number on the website to the store (disconneted) and no one answers the main number. Rings 6 or 8 times, then sounds like someone picks...

Detailed: How to do a GP100 trigger job

I have two GPs. 4" blued and 6" SS. Both have DIY trigger jobs. I knew I had gotten the triggers very nice but didn't know how nice until I got to shoot a tuned S&W 686 last week. Even the 686 owner was amazed that my GP trigger was at least as nice as his! So I have collected 4 videos that...

1917 Savage .32 front sight job

Question is about blueing used back then. Tooling a front sight for this pistol that is mint except for want of a front sight. Making new front sight from a piece of half round key stock. Basic shape is already done. What solvent/cleaner can I use on this slide without any risk to...

    1st run 4227 .357 mag

Ok. Built 30 rounds of .357 mag with SJHP, 125 gn, over a starting load of 18.2 gns 4227. Definitely a stouter load than those I've built with other powders such as Unique, LongShot, SR4756. What I am not sure I understand is that they were wildly inaccurate. Couldn't keep them on 8.5"X11"...

    Rossi revolvers?

Does anyone here have anything they can share on this topic? I know nothing about their handguns. A friend is looking at their 971 .357 mag, 4" barrel, and I told him I'd check if anyone had comments on it. I know they're much less expensive (which is why he's interested) but price does...

    Glock connectors

I need help guys. I have owned two Glocks for years now... a Gen2 G22, and a Gen3 G29. Love 'em both and won't part with them. Of course, they just fill their own roll in the stable. I have done the "25 cent" trigger jobs and it of course smoothed out the take up. I have read some...
