Is it OK to use FFFG in a .50cal inline? (Tracker 209)
I have both FFG and FFFG powder but I've found a good offer on some FFFG powder.
I have a two .44 Pietta revolvers I can use it in them, I'm just curious if I can use it in a rifle too :)
I have a Marlin 25n and the stock has split, I see Boyd's do some nice stocks for Marlin but only the 800. Will the Marlin 800 stock for the 25n? I 'think' the old Marlin 880 stocks were the same fitment as the 25n.
Anyone here got an Ardesa TRACKER?
http://www.ardesa.com/en/productos.php?wgo=101
I have a Pietta 1858 and 1860 and wouldn't mind a BP rifle and they are doing the Ardesa TRACKER cheap on offer for €141 (about $180) and they look OK but wanted the opinion of someone who has one ;)
Whats...
I bought a pair of Civil war style holsters cheaply off ebay UK for my Pietta 1860 and 1858.
LINK TO SELLER
They do black or brown :)
Both guns fit OK but are tight but I put this down to the fact the holsters are new and they are as stiff as hell. Any advice on how to soften them up a...
Made some nice shiny lead ingots from old lead pipe
The old pipe.
Chopped it into smaller bits to fit into the smelting pot. As it's soft it cuts OK with a sharp axe.
Nice shiny ingots (I made 24 today)
I made the smelting pot at work, I recycled scrap out of the trash...
Looks like the BP bug has bit me quite hard :what:
I have a Pietta 1858 and 1860 and was thinking what to get next.
I really do fancy a Uberti 3rd model Dragoon
I went onto an online site I use to check the price and noticed they now also sell Uberti Walkers too (they didn't have them...
I got got Lee 456-220 mold today :D
I've done loads of aluminium casting (and still do) but I just cannot get on with lead which I would have thought would be simple?
Have a look at these piccys (and when you have finished crying) tell me what I'm doing wrong :banghead:
Everything...
Anyone here use Sellier & Bellot caps?
I have just bought two boxes (100 caps per box) but havn't had chance to use them yet. I did test fire a few, they fit the nipples quite well and seem to give a louder than normal 'bang' and give off more smoke than the RWS caps I was using. I'm expecting...
What can anyone tell me about Swiss powder?
I've been using some French FFG (25 grains) in my 1858 because I just can't find any FFFG but now I have found a suplier for Swiss powder, I have orderd some Swiss no.2 (supposed to be FFFG) had anyone used that here?
I've tried to do a bit of...
I'm fairly new to BP shooting and after getting a Pietta 1858 (IMHO the best looking revolver there is :) ) I think I'm hooked
I have decided I HAVE the get another BP gun.
I'm happy with the quality and price of the Piettas so I have decided to buy Pietta again, question is which...
I put a nice big scratch on my Pietta 1858's cylinder :banghead:
Looking at pictures various people have posted of their revolvers it seems a common thing the cylinders getting scratched.
The scratch was mainly just cosmetic so I tried to touch up with some cold blue I had, what a waste of...
I have a few questions about cartridge convertors for BP revolvers (aimed at the 1858 becasue thats what I have :) )
1. Why do people convert? is it for convenience?
2. How does accuracy compare to C&B?
3. What do people normally use for projectiles (in other words what bullet mold works...
Hi, I've been into guns since a kid (now 40 :neener: )
I've owned various rifles in various calibles (bolt and semi-auto) but have never owned a handgun let alone BP firearm so here's a few questions.
I used to do a fair bit of reloading some years ago and always had a softspot for ye olde...
