I've been kicking around the idea of getting a 1911 for awhile--I haven't had one in 15 yrs or so. Went to the shop after work last night and found this first generation Kimber Classic Custom that had just been traded in the day before. Walnut or Rosewood grips, original box, night sights, no...
I have several K frame revolvers, one 3" and the rest 4". I'd like to settle on one defensive round for all. Since two of them are .38s I'm looking for the most effective .38+P.
What are your opinions?
I may be thinking of another forum but didn't there used to be some ballistics research associated with The High Road? Some member would evaluate and post info on new ammo, etc? I thought it was here but like I said, my memory could be failing me on this one.
Thanks.
Got it this morning with orig. box, papers, tools, etc.
Original receipt was in the box. Gun sold in August 1972 for $118.00! Sold by Castner's Sporting Goods in Kirkersville, OH.
I paid a little more.
I only have two Colts in my arsenal. I took this pic to post at coltforum.com.
I thought I'd share it here too:
Python, 8-5/8", bright stainless
New Frontier in .22lr.
Found it two weeks ago. Someone had just traded it in. 10-5, 6" pencil barrel, serial number puts it at 1978. Came with original box, paper, manual, etc. I just had to give her a good home.
Stopped by the shop last week on a whim, found this that someone had traded the day before. 1977 13-1, pinned and recessed. Other than the grips, she's a beauty. Grips will be replaced soon. This is my first pinned and recessed Smith--a nice addition to my small collection.
Saw this at the areas largest gun store about ten days ago and kept going back to look at it and telling myself, "if it's still there, I'm going to get it." Went today at lunch and it was still there so now it's mine.
It's a 65-6 with 4" tube and rubber grips. Most importantly--no lock...
Since getting my Ohio CCW license last year, I've been pulled over three times. Total number of tickets received: 0! I don't know that having the ccw influenced any of the officers' decisions but I like to think so. I'm certain it did in the last instance.
One night last week I left...
Local gun store has a like new 64 with 3" heavy barrel that would be a great companion to my 3" heavy barrel 65. The sticker is $369 which seems a bit high to me for a used .38, regardless of condition.
Is that a fair price or am I correct in thinking it's a bit high?
Does anyone know what the main Brit battle rifle is these days? Better yet, does anyone have a pic of one? I'm curious because of this picture:
I'm seen this soldier ID'd as British several places and based on the helmet I would agree but the fact that he has an M16 throws me off. I...
I just picked up a Fobus paddle holster off of ebay for my J frame 649. I've been wanted a slip on/off holster for it. This thing is great. Gun snaps in but draws easily. The paddle grips the pants very well.
Got it for $5. Best five I've spent recently. :what:
Lima Company is a Marine Reserve unit based in my town--Columbus, OH. They are a part of the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment. The battalion lost 20 marines this week, 9 of those being from Lima Co. Since being deployed in March, Lima Co. has lost 16 of it's 160 members. They have literally...
UPS brought a package from Orlando yesterday. Ordered March 2002, #5 Camp and Trail, 8" blade, stag handle with compass:
Here's one with her older sister:
I've been trying to think of more creative ways to photograph my weapons. Here are some of my Randall #1 that I took this week. This is my only Randall so far but I've got two that will be delivered this year (ordered in 2002)!
