Good looking knife. The compass is a nice, extremely functional touch. It's always nice to have a low weight back-up if your primary is lost -- it wouldn't be good to be hiking cross country with no compass if your primary disappears. And if the compass ever goes bad over a period of years/decades, Randall can replace it easily and inexpensively. I had a compass put into a really nice stag handled #23 -- my favorite Randall -- that I gave to my father. The only ability lost with the compass is hammering/crushing with the knife butt, but that's viable only with a metal buttplate.
