    7.62x25 Tokarev

Those that have one of these, are they decent shooters? Which country makes the best version? I've been thinking about getting one since I acquired a ton of ammo, looks to be Russian. So I thought it might be neat to get a pistol and give it a try. Most prices I've seen aren't to unreasonable...

    Turkish 38 mauser firing pin

I was wondering if a large ring 98 mauser firing pin will work in a long 38 turkish bolt. I have a cobbled together a k/kale that is pretty nice but it needs a firing pin. I wasn't sure if the turk pin is unique or if a model 98 will interchange or even need to be fitted. Thanks for replies.

    Trap door replicas

Can anyone recommend a factory loaded smokeless load that would be safe to fire in 45-70 trap door replicas. I don't load 45-70's but have aquired a couple. I'm just wanting to shoot them to see if I want to keep or sell them, thanks.

    FN made Model 70

A buddy of mine purchased a new model 70 made by FN in South Carolina. It's a featherweight 243. It's nice looking rifle, not compared to a pre 64 model, but it's nice. He has been complaining about the bolt being stiff or sticky closing and opening. Sure enough it is that, we tried some...

    Made a cheap spanner wrench

I was trying to find a spanner for a Remmy 740 woodsmaster barrel take down nut. My search was unsuccessful. So I made one from a cheap 5 dollar wrench from Northern tools and a punch. Works very good. Here's some pics.

    Old bullets

With times being what they are. Did an inventory of all the odds and ends boxes of bullets I have collected over the years. I used to fuss and threaten to throw them out or find someone to give them to. Now I'm glad I hung on to them. So I've got a bunch of 22 cals, 6mms, 6.5's,7mms and 308's of...

    Savage scraps 300 ACC Blackout

I see that Savage scraped plans for the Model 10 in the 300 Balckout as they claim they could not get good accuracy with subsonic loads. That's quite interesting with all the buzz on this cartridge.

AR-15 uppers seem to be drying up

I was looking at AR-15 upper assemblies today. Looks like there are a lot of back orders especially for M4 carbine uppers.

    Forest Fire and deer movement

There was a forest fire next to an area I like to hunt, the fire was maybe a 100 acres or so. I have a stand placement with in 200 yards of the fires edge. I'm not going to hunt it this weekend but maybe next. I'm not sure how it will affect the the deer movement in this area. I have rattled in...

    Phantom Buck

This big boy keeps giving me the slip, he comes in right behind my house at various times and I see him when I'm leaving for work or coming in from work, but never when I have bow, muzzleloader or rifle in hand. I think he knows my day to day schedule better than me. This was him last year caught...

    Mast Crop Spotty in E.TN

After a record acorn crop last year, acorns are spotty here in east Tn. The higher elevations (above 3000 ft.) have good chestnut oak and red oak but the white oaks are small in most places. At lower elevations its hit or miss in most places. But the soft mast looks good all around, lots of...

Military Woodland Camo is still the best

With all brands of new camo availible, I still like the good old woodland BDU's. I like the new stuff, don't get me wrong but the woodland works good in hardwood forests and laurel. And its super in low light conditions such as a foggy day or drizzle. My BDU's seem to out last commercial made...

    White-Hots or Balckhorn 209

I have always used triple 7 or pyrodex but was wanting to try something some of the newer powders. For those who have tried both, which one do you prefer and why. I'm shooting a 209x50 encore that groups very well with pyrodex, but I don't like the crud when cleaning.

    Most accurate LCR+P loads

Well, I just purchased an LCR .38 +P with the XS night site and I must say that I was suprised at the accuracy of the gun at 10 and 15 yards with standard .38 130 fmj. I would like to hear about which +P loads give the best accuracy in your revolver. How is your firearm holding up and have you...
