I have a large batch of once fired ARMSCOR .45 ACP brass for reloading (headstamp AP 03).
A "reloading-expert" told me to throw them away, the brass is "...too soft".
I thought brittle brass is a problem, not soft.
The same "expert" told me that I shouldn't use lead bullets because lead...
Does someone know a source to buy a Springfield National Match Slide for a 1911A1 with target sights?
Springfield itself has none to sell, they need them to complete their pistols.
The rifle will be used only for target shooting. Preferable would be a Leupold or Nikon scope with a front-lens diameter no larger than 40mm. Shooting distance most of the time is 300 yds/300 meters.
What magnification should it have? Fixed or variable?
Don't be so hard on "journalists" who mess up "bullets" when they mean "rounds", "automatic" when they mean "semi-automatic" etc. etc.
It happens even to gun-writers in a feature at The Shooting Wire (an iternet site).
In a discussion about the search of the US military for a .45 sidearm...
I just got an e-mail from Jim Scoutten that his show will be on OLN, starting September 30 on the same day EVERY week (not thrown out by fishing, bicycling etc. etc. as it was).
And even Bob Munden, George Knapp, and other exhibition shooters will be there again.
I think is was hard work...
I see the ads in Rifleman but cannot find the magazine at bookstores or libraries. Anyone is a subscriber of this mag? Is it worth it?
I cancelled my other subscriptions but I'd like to have a decent magazine (no ATV's, no hunting, no knives and such).
After hearing, reading, and viewing all the "Mainstream" media, reporting on the "discussion" of the President/hopeful, it always showed a "regular guy/gal" expressing their hopes that Kerry will outfox Bush. NOT A SINGLE VOICE FOR BUSH!
Fair and unbiased media?
Why Are Gun-Shops Look Like Trash-Bins?
I have visited gun-shops in Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. Why is it that 95% of them look like thrasch bins? Crude shelves, dusty "products" on dirty walls, years old dust on "Gun Maintenance" products... endless list.
I really can imagine how a...
Oh my inexplicable, existing or non-existing entity, look what I discovered:
a baseball card portraying Carrol Hardy, Outfielder of the Boston Red Sox!
On the back are 3 cartoons that read:
Carroll is like lightning on the base path - He has a strong arm that runners respect - Carrol has...
At the last gun-show (going there for entertainment, unbeatable!) a local BP arms dealer had a very nice percussion-Sharps with set-trigger and vernier sight. Now you can use them with brass cases that can be preloaded (they have a small hole at the bottom for ignition by the cap). I don't know...
On his web-site is still the announcement that it starts in August (2003!!!)
Are they still playing games with his show? At least OLN has all the reruns of "American Shooter", and I watched every one of them at least 3 times.
OLN is already threatening to show us the "Tour de France 2004"...
Does anyone know a source in the area of Las Vegas to get balls in .375 and .454 diameter for BP revolvers?
I pay $ 24.50 + 7.5% tax for 500 of 230 gr Lead RN, sized and lubed. The plain round ball in .375 cost me $ 35.00 and in .454 $ 40.00 for 500 + tax. That is insane.
Casting myself...
This was a little but nice gun show last weekend. Admittance $ 5.00, parking free.
Strolling the aisles there was a booth with this "commemorative" Winchesters (the decors are etched, not engraved). I couldn't believe my eyes:
THERE WAS A WINCHESTER 94 WITH A PORTRAIT OF SLICK WILLIE, THE...
If Mel Gibson's "Passion of Christ" becomes a smash hit, and everything looks like it, you will see A LOT OF movies with christian/conservative/patriotic topics cranked out by Hollyweird. Because only ONE THING is imortant to the self declared Hollyweird "Liberals":
MONEY, MONEY, MONEY...
Rush Limbough and the defense of G.W. Bush
Again today, I heared Rush explaining the magnificent strategy of G.W. to destroy the Democratic Party by taking over their policies. That means, G.W becomes a far left-wing Democrat to destroy the Democratic Party!
Either me, or Rush is sick! That...
Las Vegas Review Journal, Wednesday, January 14, 2004 Page 6B:
"Having significantly eroded the First Amendment just weeks ago in its unfortunate ruling upholding efforts by Congress to limit political speech under the guise of "campaign finance reform", the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday...
His new show was announced to air about August 2003 on OLN. Now, January 2004: nothing!
Do they play hide and seek with him as they did at TNN? The Bicycle Channel doesn't seem to have some interest. Once in a while, with no pattern, they show "Shotgun" and reruns of "American Shooter"...
