If Mel Gibson's "Passion of Christ" becomes a smash hit, and everything looks like it, you will see A LOT OF movies with christian/conservative/patriotic topics cranked out by Hollyweird. Because only ONE THING is imortant to the self declared Hollyweird "Liberals":

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!

Will be interesting to see, what's going on.

I think you're right, buddy

Remember "The Robe" and "The Greatest Story Ever Told" and all those old Hollywood epic Biblical pics? When they conclude that's where the money is, that's where they'll go.

Nah; They already know that PG movies pull more audience than R, but don't let that influence their decisions. What they'll probably do is say, "Man, that film was gory! Next hack and slash movie we make, let's really pour on the blood!"

"Devine Combat"

In this action adventure thriller set in present day New York, Jesus uses his magic powers to defend the Earth from an invasion of mutant aliens bent on destroying humanity. Starring Brad Pitt as the Christ and Madonna as the Madonna. Rated-(R), Violence, Strong language, Sexual Content.

During this whole broohaha over the film, all I can keep thinking is that while everyone is getting worked up over the religious/social implications of the film, Mel and the studio are laughing just themselves all the way to the bank. No such thing as bad publicity in the movie business. During all his interviews, while trying to seem solemn, I keep waiting for Mel to burst out laughing and tell the audience they've been Punk'd.

Whether or not Mel did it to make money, he's going to make money. With all the publicity the film will earn $30 million in its first two weeks and will likely gross well over $100 million before it goes to video. When it goes to video, it will be through the roof.

I don't plan on contributing to his take. I'm waiting until they come out with a film about my religion. I belong to a cult that worships a bullet-ridden Maytag wringer washing machine that's half buried in an abandoned gravel pit in northern Minnesota.
