I traded my Shield for my G33. The size difference was negligible to me. The Shield was a nice enough gun but for what I was giving up in size I'd rather have in capacity and shoot ability.

I like the colors we have choices from now days with the poly guns. But I'm not a fan of the painted on type finishes like your example. For metal guns I prefer anodized, blues and plated finishes. And that gun is as ugly as they get to me.

Your really trying to split hairs here. Glock 26 is the original topic. When M&P was brought up I said I'd rather have the original. Clearly the M&P was patterned after the Glock. So yes, that makes the glock the original. I'm not talking 9mm's, striker fired, poly guns. Just Glock and M&P.

So who did the M&P pattern their gun after exactly?

I've always wondered about the 1911 commander myself. I carry a G33 (same size as the G26)myself and with the Pierce grip extensions it's the perfect carry size gun for me.

Sig SP2022. Not too odd ball, not too mainstream, but certainly a nice gun.

HighRoad, what would you say the advantages of this new Colt are versus say a Sig P220 or Glock G21? Not to mention versus the Beretta M9 or Sig P226. Since were not talking hollow point ammo I'm guessing compared to the 9mm it's just the fact that a 45acp makes a bigger hole. And with that...
