Whats better to clean and remove that caked on carbon buildup (I guess its carbon) around the forcing cone and frame top strap of my SW 686.? I use an ultrasonic cleaner that just doesn't cut it. Would a scrub with Shooters Choice or Hoppes desolve it before going into the ultrasonic.?

I use a 1911 chambered for 9mm. Up to now, I've been using Winchesters 115g fmj. I tried some 124g. Those seemed a bit softer on the recoil. What do other 9mm shooters concider the "ideal" round for target shooting.?
