Go ahead and get the Weatherby. There is no finer production rifle out there IMO. Check out weatherbynation.com. Roy Weatherby, the owner, post there often. Any problems I have ever heard of he has taken care of personally. You gotta love that kind of dedication to a product.

My favorite cartridge. I took a fully mature bull elk last fall that scored 348. One shot with 150 gr partition and he was DRT.

Could I be so bold as to recommend the .270 weatherby magnum. I know many folks have some bad views on weatherby rifles but I love my MK V in .270 wby. It drives a 150 grain bullet at 3250fps. More than enough to take an elk in my opinion.

So I am looking for a deer rifle on a bit of a budget. I have it narrowed down to a Weatherby Vanguard and a Tika T3 Lite both in .30-06. Anyone have any real life experience with either of these rifles?
