    Cody Museum in the Winter

Went down to Cody today to visit the museum. Got there about 11:30 and we were the third car in the lot. For a while I had the entire gun museum to myself. I'm close enough that I can pick sections and view them in detail and check out another section next time around. I concentrated on...

    New Shooter Help

We were talking with a lady down the street. She's quiet and has a dog walking business. She mentioned that she'd spent the morning at a local range taking a shooting class and wondered if there was a class that would teach her how to clean her new Glock. I suggested what she should buy...

    Comic gun

Not posted for an answer but for amusement but I'm pretty sure most anyone on this list would love to take a gun to the moon and can't understand how anyone could see that as a problem.

A Tad Out of My Price Range

I stopped in at a pawn shop today and they had a Greener shotgun built in the 1840's or 1850's. If anyone has a few thousand dollars I'm sure he'll strike a deal.

Things not to say during a BATF audit

One of my pawn clients called today, needing proof of ownership interest in the business for a BATF audit. So I copied what he needed and trotted down to deliver it (and see if anything interesting has shown up on his shelves). I looked around to be sure no BATF guy was actually with him and...

    Emergency supplies

Interesting read on the new survivalists thread. It does raise an interesting question. Just what should be put aside as basic emergency supplies? The most likely near term problem for most people will be created by Mother Nature and will, generally, be local in nature. Emergency needs...

One more reason to see if it's loaded

NY Rifle Company Ships Loaded Guns Apr 4, 10:46 PM (ET) NEW YORK (AP) - A rifle manufacturer asked arms dealers nationwide to make extra safety inspections after discovering it had accidentally shipped four guns loaded with live ammunition. Henry Repeating Arms, a maker of lever-action...

Lesson learned and a new hobby

I made a mistake after zeroing my powder scale the other day. I rezeroed it today and realized I have a new hobby - unloading at least 100 rounds of 45ACP with powder charges 70% over maximum. Santa is not the only one who needs to check everything twice (or thrice). I do not like this new...

    Linebaugh Seminar?

I'm thinking about going to a Linebaugh seminar this summer. It's less than 100 miles down the road and can even be considered convenient. What are the pros and cons? What should I expect of it and what will be expected of me?

    .45 colt bullets

I have a .45 convertible Acusport Bisley and started reloading this weekend. The .45ACP is fairly straight forward RNL since I can also shoot it easily in a P97. I now have 49 newly reloaded rounds of .45ACP and a need for a bullet puller. (The first one got seated just a tad deep) The .45...

Firearms cover a lot of ground

Archery Park No Longer Allows... Archery Oct 19, 9:23 PM (ET) EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) - The city's Archery Park may need a name change. How about No-Archery Park? Tom Draper and his bowhunting friends have practiced archery at the park for more than 20 years, and he was surprised recently...

    Quality spotting scope

My wife and I went spotting for wolves in Y'stone a week ago and managed to see 10 over the course of an hour near Soda Butte in the Lamar Valley. They were fairly easy to see even with no magnification. However, later in the day at the other end of the valley we watched one that was so far...

    Facing an angry moose

This happened recently. The woman is learning how to speak again in the U of U Medical center in SLC. The woman and her husband were hiking in the woods somewhere in the Rockies when they stumbled upon a bull moose. He was as startled as they and charged. The husband told his wife to run...

    Bonus

I bought a NIB 6" short shroud GP100 early last year. When push came to shove the store couldn't find the box so I got another 15% off a pretty good price. The store just called that they found the box. I'll pick it up Saturday.:)
