I have a pound of H322 and some 55 grain bullets.
Hodgdon says start with 21 gr with a max of 23
Speer's manual says start with 22.5 gr with a max of 24.5

I wasn't planning on max loads but I can just about max out for one while just getting started with the other.:banghead:

What brand bullets are they

I would start low, and work up, since the small load will still fire the bullet, load 5 of each weight increasing like .2 grains, this is always a fun thing to do cause you can see the results on paper

IMO the powder manufacturer's data is more reliable than an outside vendor although I think Speer data is just a copy of the manufacturer's data. What edition is the Speer manual?

I would go with in this order:
1. Bullet Maker
2. Powder Vendor
3. Third Party Manual

I've been using 22gr H-322 over a 55gr Nosler Ballistic Tip and have been very happy with it. Sub 1/2" MOA.... BTW - I found that in my Weatherby .223 when I went up to 23gr, groups opened up a bit.

Approach cautiously and let it know you are there. Those little guys get startled easily:D.

I have been using 22gr under pulled 55gr FMJs. For this rifle (AR carbine), I am needing reliable function and "close enough" accuracy for relatively close ranges and a 4moa dot sight.

If you are looking for accuracy, start low and work up while keeping an eye on pressure signs.

What brand of bullet?

If it's Speer, go with the Speer manual.
It's it's a third party, start with the Hodgdon data.
