I just got my hands on one of the new Para Hawg 9 mini-1911 pistols chambered for the 9mm Para. It comes with all the "bells & whistles" you 1911 fans demand but is chambered for a cartridge that makes it a very controllable and accurate little package. Hell, loaded with 13 rounds of 9mm +P+...
A friend of mine who shoots IDPA told me today that Bill Wilson (the "dictator") is thinking of outlawing the 610 revolver from competition as it provides "too many" advantages?
Good Lord, now I'm positive IDPA is getting too weird! :uhoh:
I've heard that in some states the CCW license will list the handguns (make, type, serial #) that you are allowed to carry. Which states are those?
When you take the shooting section of the CCW course in North Carolina the instructor lists on the form what type of handgun and caliber you used...

We evaluated the G38 and G39 today. Put about 150 rounds through each: very controllable, soft recoil, pleasingly accurate and 110% reliable. :D
We both felt the little G39 was more pleasant to shoot than a G27 and the mid size G38 was a regular pussycat. In fact the woman shooter who was...
Many of you might wonder why I don't like most 1911 pistols. The fact is that I have found the single stack 1911 to be the worst handling pistol I have ever fired. I used them for years for USPSA shooting and did lousy. That was the major reason why I switched to hicap guns like the Glock...
We had five IDPAers show up at our club's monthly USPSA match. They were a bit nervous at first but when all was said and done one of them summed their feelings up quite well when he said, "Da*n, this sure is a lot more fun then what we've been doing!" :D

They had a show on the OLN the other night about Sgt. Alvin York. They interviewed his son who said his father always (!) carried a pistol - a 7.65mm Mauser. :what:
Gee, I bet that busts a lot of ballons in the 1911/.45 crowd?
There is a handgun steel shoot the 4th Sunday of each month a the Piedmont Handgunners Association range south of Lexington. It's only a few minutes off I-85.
Anyone wanting more info can e-mail me. :)
Finally got out the range today for a bit and did some accuracy testing with the .40 caliber XD Custom Pro. This is one tack driving son of a ......... well, whatever.
From a rest at 15 yards I was getting sub 1.5 inch five shot groups. At 25 yards they opened up (?) to 1.675 inches. :what...
I was test firing some 9mm reloads today that use 115 gr. Berry's Plated Bullets. Out of my Para-Ord 18.9 LDA and Beretta Elite they shoot great. But when fired from my G17, G34 and my friend's G19 they were keyholing within ten yards. :cuss:
Has anyone else had problems with these...
Now that 9mm ammo is so cheap I use nothing but factory ammo when I shoot Production division. Doesn't matter what brand - as long as it's on sale. :D
When I shoot .40 or .45 in Limited or L10 I still do reloads. Gotta tame that recoil somehow. :fire:
It's too bad some mfg. doesn't...
in the post-1945 police market? Their most popular models (M&P and Official Police) were equally reliable and adaptable to police service. What happened?
I've been using an 18.9 LDA in USPSA Production Division for some time now and find I shoot it better then just about any pistol I own - except for my Para 16.40. :D
A friend just picked up a Colt Official Police revolver. The serial number is 553xxx. Does anyone have an idea of the approximate date of manufacture???
Thanks.
