    Pistol brace SBR stamp

Thanks. I didn't know about the engraving part.....figured I'd have to do that like all my other NFA stuff. Nice to not have that step. Now I wonder what happens if this eventually does get overruled by the courts.....does that make all the form 1's we did under that rule invalid? Back to...

    Pistol brace SBR stamp

I got my free form-1 back approved this week for a CZ Scorpion with brace. "Approved with conditions" and at the end the "Pursuant to ATF Final Rule 2021R-08F." I *think* this means it is no different than my other 2 SBR form-1's and if I want to, I can replace the brace with an actual stock...

    Reloading 6.5 Creedmore

I did H4350 + Hornady 140gr SST. This was for my buddy's boys deer rifles. Their "starter" rifles on the inexpensive side - one was the basic Savage Axis with the hollow plastic stock & the other a Mossberg Patriot also with the plastic stock. They both came as kits with budget 3x9 scopes and...

Lee Auto Drum Help Needed Please

UGGGGHHHHH....I've done that before but has been so long I forget what the issue was. It was something stupid like using the short rifle charging die instead of long or having the inserts from them swapped around......it was something to do with that riser to get the powder drop higher. Wish I...

223 Jacket extends below the base

I bought some about 10 years ago that were "bullet heads" brand and looked exactly like that. They are the most inconsistent projectile I've ever come across, but they were fine for blasting ammo.

    .223 Brass trimming, thoughts

Your case gauge measures that, so it does get measured. Note that for stuff like 9mm or .223 I'm going for how can I do the most in the least amount of time, not how I can make the absolute most consistent match ammo...... The fastest way I've found is to use a Dillon RT1500 and then tumble...

    How to read groups?

I didn't see distance if you posted it. If that was 300 I'd be doing a happy dance. 150 FMJ I'm guessing that's 100 yds? This might apply to other calibers - I have no idea - but factory Fed Gold Medal Match 168 gr it just seems like anything 308WIN just does really well. I benchmark my 308...

    Hornady 55gr differences?

Wow. You should see if they have more and get them all. Your barrel must really like them. Typically a FMJ w/ cannelure is about the worst construction there is for accuracy, but if you're getting MOA with them, you're def doing a lot of things right. That load + barrel must be sick on a VMAX

    Hornady 55gr differences?

Try some #2266 if you haven't unless you really want FMJ. The SP are about the same cost in bulk, maybe a penny more. But the accuracy is a very noticeable difference. Might be bumping up against my limits of shooting groups, but I find the 2266 group very slightly larger than VMAX, but still...

    Isolating scale query.

I've had my 505 on a shelf that was mounted to same studs work bench was secured to. Didn't seem to bother it. Hornady dispensing scale however even on its own little stand near the bench but not screwed into anything, the press will bother it. I'm in a 2nd floor spare bedroom, so concrete...

    Reloading misconceptions.

Go ahead. Won't hurt my feelings one bit. Since you don't even understand what the thread is about.....couldn't care less about interacting with you Wow....even after it was explained to you by others....ffs

    Reloading misconceptions.

A $30ish Amazon digital scale alone is sufficient - even more so if it comes with its own check weight. Lee makes absolute garbage no matter what it is. As long as muzzle velocity is about the same your old DOPE is close enough. The whole thing is a mix of witchcraft and alchemy. There are...

CCI #400 for AR or trade - what would you do?

If you were close to me I’d do that in a heartbeat. Should be an easy swap anywhere

CCI #400 for AR or trade - what would you do?

I have ALWAYS used SRM for 223 & 300BLK since 99.9% goes thru an AR. CCI #41, Wolf SRM, Fiocchi SRM. Always looked at it like added safety since I have so many ARs and some people reach their hands into my ammo cans for their ARs. In all my .223 could easily go thru any of 30 different ARs...

wrong spot but you guys will know....BP

Buddy's boy shoots a 50 cal muzzleloader. Had Pyrodex RS. I was tasked with picking him up more for a stocking stuffer but none at LGS. They had (& I got) Triple 7 T72. I think he typically uses about 70gr of powder. Would he do same with triple 7 or are those way different? I also got him...

I too just use the hand prime to get it rest of way there.

Desiccant or not in storing reloads?

I do. Not really because I think I need it, but those desiccant packs accumulate and I feel like I'm re-using them at least. I do the same for the small inline dryers on my air compressor & HVLP sprayers - some use for the stuff.

Conflicting Data for W-231 and 9mm

Hodgdon data is for a plated bullet so that will often be slightly lighter than jacketed. My Hornady (8th) doesn't list HP38/W231 for a 124gr. but has 4.1 - 4.7 for 115gr so 4.7 does seem a little high for a starting load considering it's their max for a lighter bullet. Low-mid 4 gr W231 is...

    PRIMERS

Ummmm....the powder was shipped to me - same as it could have been shipped to Florida. I find it hard to believe nowhere in the state of Florida sold Fiocchi primers in 2019 or 2020..... although Outdoor Limited also ships.

357 what is the best load

I use both W231/HP38 and H110/W296 (I guess all 4? :) ) For general range ammo the HP38/W231 is fine and makes good ammo. For bigger boom, more felt recoil, just that "magnum feeling" W296/H110 does it. This is from a 6" GP100
