Pretty much have had a sample of everything the major mfg. have to offer but I'm thinking of something different. Never had a H&K or an FN, other than my High Power.
Don't want anything striker fired, strictly hammer fired DA/SA.
What do my fellow forum members recommend. ;)
Just out of curiosity I checked the gap of my revolvers. Always set my Dan Wesson at .004 thousands which works great, but my fixed barrel guns are as follows:
1978 Colt Python (My most accurate revolver) .006
Colt King Cobra Target .004
2022 Colt...
The wonderful land of stinken has recently legalized automatic knives for those with a valid F.O.I.D.
Always had a fascination with OTF's so I bought a Benchmade Infidel, a bit of a disappointment as the blade won't fully extend if it comes in contact with something on the way out.
Fell in love...
Just saw the cover of guns & ammo with a new Taurus revolver.
Never shot one or known anyone who has owned one.
Always heard it was a brand to steer clear of because of quality problems and bad customer service.
Just curious. :scrutiny:
Wanting to experience the latest and greatest I purchased a Sig P365XL with the Romeo zero sight.
Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it in the beginning, kept practicing and eventually got better.
Then I realized it was affecting the way I shoot all my other iron sight handguns. Took it...
Took my new 6" Python along with my old 6" to the range the other day.
I was shooting .358 dia. 158gr Missouri bullet lead SWC's on top of 4.0gr. of HP-38.
Results from Labradar.
New revolver yielded:
Stats - Average 856.3 fps
Stats - Highest 884.52 fps
Stats - Lowest 825.94 fps

Always been a 45ACP guy when it comes to home defense on onaconda big & slow is the way to go, won't blind me in the dark or blow out my eardrums. ;)
Mostly out of curiosity I'm wondering at what velocity a Hornady 357 125gr. XTP will start to expand?
Took my new 6" Python to the range yesterday morning along with my 2" cobra snubby and the 4 1/4" King cobra target. The new Python is quite accurate in both single and double action but my old 1978 Python is more accurate in single action, of course 44 years of shooting may have something to do...
Just read about 3 cases out east where police are suing Sig because their dept. issued Sigs went off on their own. Anyone know the details or how this could happen?
Police officers sue gun maker for faulty weapon: report | The Hill
For me it's 7.5gr. of Universal under a 255gr. lead SWC, what's yours?
Forgot to add I'm shooting them out of a 625 Smith mountain gun.
Sure wish Colt would bring out the new Anaconda in .45 Colt, just onaconda.:)
Been into the Super for some time now and have pretty much settled on using Titegroup for my target loads. 5.2gr. under a 115gr Hap yields 1250 fps. out of my PM38 and 1220 out of the Guardian.
Most impressive has been 10.0gr of VV N105 under a 124gr. XTP which gives 1400fps out of the PM-38 and...
What do you consider the perfect trigger pull weight for a 1911.
I'm guessing that my two DW commanders are somewhere between 4 and 5 lbs. which seems perfect for a carry piece. On the other hand all of my target pistols are around 3 to 4lbs.
My 45 year old series 70 Colt Gold Cup has, after all...
