P99's are great pistols, although they really shine in 9mm. The AS trigger just gets better and better for the first several hundred rounds too. Really short trigger reset!
I've always practiced with 130gr FMJ in my short barrel revolvers (442-1 and SP101).
I'm looking to order some 158gr .38 Spl (My Ruger prefers 158gr in terms of POA = POI) for practice sessions and the best ammo deals seem to be on LRN ammo.
I realize that 158gr is going to be pretty...
Yes. Only mine is the shorter barrel model, but it shoots about 3" low at 10 yards with 125 gr .38's or .357's. I have not tried 158gr ammo yet, but I think that will take care of it.
Owned an M9-A1 for a while. Did not care for the tiny mag release button or vague trigger reset.
On the plus side, the pistol feels great in hand, and they're very soft shooting for their caliber.
But I have owned several polymer-framed 9mm's I prefer to the Steyr from Glock, Walther and Sig.
This is my 3913 NL. I love my 3rd Gen S&W's. I've owned 3913's, a 3914, CS9 and 457 and they've all been excellent pistols. Easy to carry and 100% trustworthy.
That's cool. Mine was not. Even after a trip to Kahr. Sold it and moved on. The Beretta is looking pretty good in the micro 9mm market and will undoubtedly take a chunk out of Kahr sales.
Everybody knows Kahr PM9's usually work right away, or at least after the break in period. But early...
I'm most impressed that the Nano seems to work, right out of the box, with no factory-recommended break in period where reliability is not to be expected (think Kahr).
The factory video where they strip the lube off and fire 1,000 rounds with zero issues is pretty amazing.
The Nano is on my...
Agree that SP101's are not known for smooth, light triggers from the factory. The spring kit will make a nice difference. Wolff 10# is a good choice that will ignite any factory ammo. Best of luck to you, the SP101 is a great little revolver.
Just for kicks, here's my 2.25" SP101 with red...
My SP101 had the Trijicon tritium front. As mentioned by another poster, it's not a great night sight. No outline for daylight shooting, and the tritium vial just seems small and dim.
I'll have a Small Wonder red fiber optic from Gemini shortly, that should be a nice improvement.
It's possible the finish on your Glock isn't up to standard.
The good news is Glock has some of the best customer service in the industry.
You should talk to them and let them take care of it for you.
This 15-2 has been in my family since new. It was purchased somewhere around '79-'81 is my best guess. It's a Monson, Mass production gun.
Torn between selling it (don't need a 6" .357) or getting a shorter barrel and an action job.
Who does trigger work on these?
I had the kit installed on a NIB 442 and the trigger pull is still really heavy. Smoother than factory for sure, but quite heavy.
Also, after the (internal) hammer drops, the trigger on the return stroke feels gritty / rough. This is an unusual feeling I haven't notice in prior J-frames I have...
My 442-1, production date Feb 2011, has the script like the 642 pictured above (nothing on the right side of the barrel, and on the left "SMITH & WESSON .38 S&W SPL +P"
