    Walmart Pistol Ammo "Closeout" Priced

Dallas, Old Denton @ 190. They had about half of their handgun and all 223 ammo labeled discontinued on the price tabs. I spoke with the store manager, as the ammo key was not available elsewhere. It seems nobody knows what will or will not be discontinued. Outstanding pricing.

What firearm was it that you first shot?

Marlin 25. In the safe as I surf.

Is a Laser Bore Sighter worth it?

I saw a shooter use one to set up his chronograph. It was by far the most useful tool for the job. It is irritating waiting on shooters to get their chronograph set up.

    2019 Rifle Goals?

My 2019 goal is to go to the range and shoot at least once or twice per month. I did not know being a grandfather was a full time job. I plan (hope) to do my grandfathering during the week nights, leaving shooting and drive time for 1 weekend day. Grandson gets one weekend day as well. I feel...

AR Builds -- What Parts Did You Choose and Why??

    - Stag lower and Stag lower kit - alleged Magpul butt stock/buffer/spring/tube bought at Lewisville Gun show - was not Magpul, but it is working........ I returned to the next show. They were nowhere to be found. My error for not knowing what I was buying. - AR Stoner carbine 16" 223/556 1/9...

    Rimfire Prove it.

This looks like fun. I struggled to print a target. (tech issues with hp printer/tablet/service provider/webroot/me ). 25ft is n/a where I shoot. I will do 9 yards. Have fun jlr

Mossberg and MKS end sales to Dick's sporting goods.

I received a gift card for Field & Stream/Dicks. I used part of It in January. When I went back to clear it out, it was after their policy change. They wanted $400 over a Savage $1400 list price for a specific rifle. Their shoes were outrageously priced. Ammo pricing was insulting as well. I...

    Who doesn't have an AR15?

I really enjoy my ar. I shoot steel/prone out to 500, indoor offhand at 25, or bench at 100 to 200 depending where I am. The people that do not have one usually wind up getting one, from my observations anyway. My ar is the only gun I have that I can shoot at all of the positions at all of...

What would be a step up from a SWFA SS 10x42?

Going forward, I will stick to SWFA scopes. My first, a 16 power fixed made me a permanent customer. Santa brought me an HD 5x20. I love it. Had Santa not brought me the 5-20, I would have purchased another 16. The reticle is perfect on both. It is nice to be able to back off when mirage is an...

    RIP RC Model sad news

RC had mentioned liking the factory Glock duty holster. Said it was fast and very concealable. Last week I ordered one just because. I love it. . .

    RIP RC Model sad news

Again, Rest in Peace RC. He obviously had an influence on many people. I seems like some of you actually knew RC. I am curious about his signature and if there was a story behind the primers in a glass jar.

    RIP RC Model sad news

Rest In Peace RC. I just saw this. I will read the entire thread tomorrow. RC always reminded me of my grandfather. That is how I pictured him as well. jlr

Which one of these over-the-top handguns would you choose?

I chose the 460 s&w. It is allowed at 1 of the 4 ranges I go to, and I recall seeing ammo available.

    Steel cased Ammo?

I have had multiple steel casings stuck in my ar chamber. I have never had a brass casing stuck in my ar chamber. I have 440 rounds of steel case 223 ammo that nobody wants to buy. I will not put another steel case round in my ar. My Glock does not seem to mind the steel ammo. I still won't buy...

Oversize bore brush stuck in barrel.

I got a 30 stuck in a 243 about 1" into the bore working from the chamber. I had to thread on a short rod section and use vice grips at a right angle to twist it back out.:uhoh: I felt lucky to have been able to get it out.

    Not happy with ammo purchase

That sucks sir. I hope you learned a lesson. I won't use cheap ar ammo. I got two stuck in three weeks las year. I am now sitting on 540 rounds of cheap factory ammo that nobody will buy from me:uhoh: I also had a box of hi dollar defense 380 ammo that got stuck due to folded over casings. A...

    First time jitters.

I agree with the ammo in the cart issue. I saw some chaps following me around once after I bought ammo and was grocery shopping with my wife. The stop and stare shooed them off. My first carry CC day was with an AIWB holster that looked like a good idea at the time. It was very uncomfortable...

Opinion Change - Safety Course Should Be Required

You got me on the angle to the firing line. As far as the dividers, the owner of the range claimed they were rated to take a round from any 50 caliber weapon. The ones with simple wire mesh or plywood would do nothing but stop brass.
