Yep, it's smooth/flat around the edges. And yes it's difficult to notice, so you are indeed correct that mostly it'll only ever be seen when the gun is taken down. It is possible to see the mark however with the gun fully assembled but even so, it's not easy to see it.
And since you're saying...
Here is a picture of a dent/tooling mark in the slide of this Kimber Warrior II. It's definitely a dent, not a burr. The mark is concave, not convex. :) If you drag your fingernail across the slide, it will catch in this dent/mark.
I purchased this only two days ago. I have not fired it yet...
I will keep working on that sear spring!
No, rest assured I have no plans to get rid of the pistol.
I'm certainly more proficient in the dis-assembly/reassembly than I was when I first got it. Plus once it started to break it I no longer needed to tap out the mainspring housing or tap on...
Now I just have to get the trigger working!
Update:
Thanks to everyone that responded! I am completely appreciative that you are all so willing to help out. I've never not seen a genuine response from everyone on this forum readily willing to lend a hand when someone needs it. So thanks...
That is what I was going to do initially and didn't listen to myself. I had planned to just shoot the snot out of it without ever cleaning it... I looked at the take-down instructions and realized how much of a pain it was going to be and had decided initially not to take it down, but did it...
(Solved... Mostly) :D What the heck have I done to my Ruger Mk 3?!
Okay sorry for the spastic thread title. But what in the world have I done to this Ruger Mk 3 22/45?! Does anyone mind helping me trouble shoot this?
This all happened after I had disassembled it for cleaning then...
Already own a C9 so I answer yes. Plus I would buy more of their handguns.
Also interested in their carbines.
Hi Points look like a throw away weapon.... And they're cheap. I think many people base their opinion purely on that; the look and cost and assume they're garbage. And they arrive at...
And the way to tell whether it's a Mk II or Mk III are very subtle differences correct?
I think I'll definitely have to post a picture to see which it is now. I'm the curious one now. I'm thinking it's gonna turn out to be a MK II though....
So in your estimation earl what gives the edge...
And thanks for your willingness to help me out with this, everybody. I appreciate the time you all took to point me in the right direction.
Thanks a lot. :)
Post #17 I dropped back in to say that I got it.
Somehow I managed to over look whether it did or not. Don't ask me how that happened. :) I'll have it a little over a week from now. (10 day wait periods due to living in Komnifornia.)
MK II is the larger sights and larger safety lever...
Oh and the truly surprising thing is that he has been advertising this thing since the beginning of this month. But I guess the living costs here in CA might explain why it stuck around so long?
Okay I said I'd report back in.
I went for it.
But, turns out that dealer acquired the Hi Power in question not through his wholesaler but in a deal with someone he knows. The FFL told me the individual he got the gun from stated that it was new/unused. The FFL trusts this person.
So...
Hah hah buy it now research later. :)
That is one of the main reasons I was holding off on getting it. I don't know too much about them.
Think I might take everyone's advice and go for it. I will come back later with the news as to whether I did go for it or not.
Disregard my above.... Bulldog posted before I could.
Well in that case, if you feel it's THAT good then now I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with it. :D
Is it lame to ask for advice on the price of a gun here?
If not, I found a Browning Hi Power 9mm for $600 new from a dealer. Wondered if this is a good deal or not? It's the satin finish frame.
Hi Powers come highly recommended to me by people I know so I thought I might get it.
Thanks again everybody. Appreciate your willingness to take the time to help me.
I think I'll try the idea I was thinking of since no one seems to feel it's inadvisable. That is, lighten the amount of pressure I use to hold the stock into my shoulder little by little until recoil starts to...
