    Getting squib rounds and baffled

I appreciate that. I am not offended by anyone. I know it's out of concern. Yes, it is a dangerous hobby, but a most enjoyable also. Actually out of all the forum sites that I am subscribed to, this one has been the most supportive. A great group of guys here.... martinb3152

    Getting squib rounds and baffled

This is my new rule of thumb. Even if I have a little left in a bottle. Point taken. What is the best lighting system to get for a 550? martinb3152

    Getting squib rounds and baffled

Well you guys were absolutely right. Found some rounds with very little powder in them. I don't know how this happened. But it's time to rethink my reloading habits. This is too dangerous of a game to make a mistake. I think what happened is that when I am low on powder of a particular brand...

    Getting squib rounds and baffled

Hello, haven't been here for awhile. I was out at the range today and had a terrible session. About half the way into my reloads, I started to get squib loads. Now I just didn't have one. I had a half a dozen or more. Shooting a Springfield XD9 4" service model and the reloads where CFE pistol...

550 dumping powder all over the place

Hello, I had to take down my 550 reloader for a week or two to have some electrical work done on my reloading room. When I took off the powder system I laid it down flat on some boxes. When I installed everything back and tried to reload some .357 mag rounds it was dumping all over on the top of...

    That's it, I'm done.

I have a 9mm as well. Reload this caliper and .45's at the moment, until I pick up a .357 revolver. I have a bunch of brass for that too. The funny thing is I got lectured at my range for not marking my brass. There brass cops there. At least some of the guys at the counter are. So now I mark my...

    That's it, I'm done.

I buy most of my bullets thru X-treme. They seemed to be the most reasonable for copper plated bullets. I don't like shooting lead. Too smokey. martinb3152

    That's it, I'm done.

Went to Big5 to pick up some .380 ammo. I have been buying one box at a time due to the extremely high prices and to try to ease the pain. One box of Sig Sauer 100gr .380 was $25.00 out the door. That's it! I am going to pick up some dies for my press and start reloading in that caliber. Even if...

    Dillon 550 throwing spent primers

Hello, I have a problem with loading that when I deprime my cases, I get a bunch of spent primers spitting out and laying on the the shelf of the press and not into the cup. Then when I pull the handle down it gets stuck due to spent primers laying on the press. What could be causing this? It...

    Crimping question

I don't think it's a weak coil spring. The gun is practically brand new. It has about 600 rounds through it. Unless it was weak from the start. martinb3152

    Crimping question

Really? This is where I am confused. Would FTF be caused by to short or too long OAL? They don't jam, just have to tap the slide on a few to get it to go in battery. martinb3152

    Crimping question

I got the info from my Hornaday Fifth edition manual. But I am going to start reducing the load anyway and go with Hodgdon's listing instead. It's way too much kick for me at 4.9grains. It's not enjoyable to shoot. Anyway, I am going to start reloading with Universal instead of Titegroup just...

I agree, I am going to be lengthening the next batch. They might be a little too short. martinb3152
