I was shooting some Remington 115 MC UMC ammo (green box, 50 RD boxes) in my CZ-75 the other day and had one Failure to Extract. The CZ is a stock gun and religiously clean. I was just wondering if there were issues (other than being VERY dirty) with Remington UMC ammo.
Speaking of dirty; I...
a question that came to mind today. Searching yielded no results.
Can you swap crane and cylinder assemblies on two spo101s or do they need to be fitted? The assembly pops out pretty easy when the gun is taken down, so it'd be an easy thing to switch one cylinder assembly for the other, and...
After getting my True Love started on an Pearson All American recurve, I made her a white oak selfbow. The bow is 62" long, 23# @26". Cane grip. 4 coats of helmsman spar urethane. She likes the selfbow a lot better than the recurve. I went for a more elliptical tiller in order to eke some extra...
The thought of the bolt slamming home on an empty chamber after the the last shot is fired has me cringing.
But I had some thoughts:
A centerfire auto pistol has recoil springs rated anywhere from 14-20#. I can see how the breechface could be damaged from that.
I'm not sure what the spring...
This is for the CZ-75, not the CZ-75B. There will be some minor internal differences. Bearing that in mind, the manual is still an informative read.
I've got in on my blog as html pages and as a pdf.
This is sort of a plug for my blog, but there's no way to post the manual here.
I thought I'd start a new thread on this, with all the info in one post.
I've noticed that rounds have been sticking in the cylinder chambers of my SP101. At first I though the problem was a dirty cylinder but after thoroughly getting that clean, rounds would still stick a bit in the...
I've scrubbed the bejeebus out of my sp101. Believ me, I've scrubbed this thing.
The problem is that on magnum rounds usually one or two don't fully seat in the cylinder. I drop in 5 rounds into the cylinder, letting them fall in. The I turn the cylinder upside down and three rounds will drop...
This is a hard-to-phrase question, but here it goes: every once in a blue moon, when I close the cylinder on my sp101 and pull the trigger, nothing happens. Trigger can't move the cylinder and hammer can not be cocked back. The lockwork is locked up as if I don't have the cylinder fully closed...
I took my Significant Other out to the range for the first time.
Pictures are here.
To some people, the word "feminist" is an ugly word. To others, "gun owner" is also ugly.
People are more than stereotypes.
I decided after shooting today to give it a go at removing the firing pin from my cz-75B. Some observations:
1.the CZ factory roll pin is a bit large. Once it's out, it's a pain to get it back in.
2. I used a roll pin from Miossi and it worked much smoother.
3. it wasn't really that...
I decided to put in a wolff 14# recoil spring in my CZ-75b. Thye are a tad longer than factory stock springs, maybe too long. when fitted with the wolff springs, I can here the spring grinding inside the slide as I work the slide back and forth. check out the pictures.
wolff spring on top...
Are there any JHPs that the CZ-75B does not like? Locally, my choice of ammo seems to be :
Winchester white box 147 grn JHP
Remington UMC 115 JHPs
Remington 124 Grain Golden Sabers
Winchester 115 grain Sivertips
Federal 135 grain and 147 Hydrashoks.
Gold Dots, 124 grain.
I've...
I've done a week's worth of research on this round. Locally, I can get it inexpensively. That means I can practice with it. Also, I think the Winchester USA FMJ is a "sister" round to the JHP and should be very similar in feeding and performance. That's another bonus, if I'm correct in that...
