Is a Laser Bore Sighter worth it?

Me too, all you need is one frustrating time at the range not finding paper & this pays for itself. Also use it to do before/after on scope swap zeroes, which have been surprisingly accurate, key is to leave the laser on and not move it while swapping the scopes.

Whose 6.5 Creedmoor did you buy and why?

1st was a RAP with boyds stock, metal trigger guard, and metal bolt cover upgrades. Wanted to try this caliber and reloading for it, at entry level. 2nd, Savage 10 GRS, liked the stock ergonomics and savage barreled action. Its my goto range stick. 3rd, 24" heavy barrel AR10 upper build-up -...

Red dot differences- little tube vs window pane?

true holographic sights have an amazing high tech crystal structure that is mostly clear except for an imbedded 3D image of a reticle, off in the distance. An interesting fact, , all of the crystal structure has that 3D image, so a broken off piece would still have all that image, but just a...

Looking for a mid priced dot for my new Ruger 9mm carbine

Another vote for Sig Romeo5. I have one on a 6" 357 mag, 22LR pistol, 6.8 spc AR, 12 ga semi,,, all good.

    Longshot in 9MM

That's what I use it for, 6" 686+ in medium to heavy loads.

Who's made or bought the perfect shooting stool for use at the bench?

Keyboard bench works for me, stable, easy to fold up & throw in the truck & cheap: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0773R5QVY/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Blast from the past

I have the 6" version of that & its extremely light, good for toting on a trap line. Mine is in just average shape, been used plenty before I got it.

    New Smith & Wesson No-Dash

tks alfsauve,, I changed the grips on my 686+ to reduce the knuckle mash on full house loads. Lite loads were ok.

    New Smith & Wesson No-Dash

Well done,,, makes me want one too... question : does the rear of the trigger guard mash your middle knuckle (on max loads) ?

Do you prime off the press?

Also only use the RCBS hand priming system. Have two, one for large other for small primers. Like the additional look at cases for flaws and can feel a loose pocket for discard.

    Your LGS

Have three LGS that I've used (2 aren't real close) and they each have had good sales, but only once in a while. My favorite and closest is a mom/pop feed store grown into a general store that charges a flat 7% markup from factory price - they get most of my biz.

    Does anyone have a CMR-30?

My PMR30 is reliable when the mag is loaded properly, gun cleaned, and lightly oiled. A simple mag test of pressing down on the top round to see if it pops back, is usually enough to insure a good mag fill. 28 rounds usually pops back better than 30. It is fed 40 gr JSP, HP and CCI gamepoints.

S&W 69..... If Loving Her is Wrong....

Have the same Pachmayr Renegade grips on my 686 and removed a bunch of material aft of the trigger guard to give my middle knuckle relief from full house load recoil. The grip material is easy to work on and then polish, its similar to knife scale material (dymondwood?) I use on fixed blade...

    Fav non-standard cartridge

8x57 mauser is nearly on that list, at least here in the US of A. 6x6.8 was once made by one company, does that count ?

Can I cheat? Red dots, lasers, other aids make it easier?

Have a cheap red dot on my target Buckmark and a Sig Romeo5 on a new 686+. Much more accurate with them than w/out. Have a laser on a couple other handguns, equally accurate but don't like beam pointing out my position from the laser. My edc is iron sights.

    FN Surplus Hi Power

Had one in mint condition many years ago, didn't care for it in general, traded up for a used Springfield 45, then traded up for a new Kimber stainless II 45. Still have the Kimber somewhere in the back of the safe.

    .22-250?

Why not ! Mine came by the way of a deal to good to pass up. A TC Venture in camo - so now I have another option for yote hunting.. Plus its a tack driver - straight from the factory.

is a nickel bolt better for suppressed AR's?

My vote is for NiB BCG, I have a couple, slicker is better IMO. As said before, the bigger mess from a can is crud in upper and magazine(and top rounds).

    38 Special practice loads

Sierra has a new smartphone app for reloading rifle & pistol that has a slider for fps. Pick 1) data 2)rifle/pistol 3) cartridge 4) projectile 5) then move the fps slider. As you move the slider powder values change, drop in/out. Pretty neat, just did a quick look at 38 spl 125 gn JHP @...
