Blast from the past

I have been looking for a 22 revolver to dispatch varmints I trap. I wanted a revolver as I intend to use Shorts. I did not want anything fancy as it will see rough usage.

What I found was an oldie but goody. A J. C. Higgens Model 88.



It's actually a High Standard with a Sears house brand. Nicely made 9 shot 22 from the 50's or 60's.

At 7 yards it's high with 22LR but dead on with 22 Shorts.

I have the 6" version of that & its extremely light, good for toting on a trap line.
Mine is in just average shape, been used plenty before I got it.
