    .22 Rifle Accuracy

5 MOA at 100 Yards with .22 LR Thunderbolt sounds really good to me. Other ammo will probably outperform this. The Thunderbolt is dirty as well and will gum up and action much faster than other ammo. I only use it in manual actions, mostly revolvers.

    Infirmities? Auto vs. Revolver

maybe. never compared side by side like you did here. just antother option. I'd also be concerned with injured or arthritic hands, if I short stroked the slide and a round noses up, and it jams, then I'd have a whole other issue to solve, with injured or arthritic hands, and with revolver all...

    Loading 5 in a revolver

page 8 or 9, maybe referenced on other pages too, but yea - it is just a general carry recommendation they make for all their revolvers.

    Considering a new action

I think I would do more testing before making any investment or decision. I'd want to shoot the reloads in another or couple more rifles. and maybe shoot some factory rounds out of the same rifle, or play with different jumps for the reloads. Closer is usually better, but not an exact...

    Help me diagnose an issue

It isn't that crazy to pop the cylinder off and clean the parts and oil them. Mine was binding once in a while new, and made like kind of a clicking sound when I spun the cylinder with it released and it was not really free spinning, you could tell something was off. Cleaning it did clear it...

    Infirmities? Auto vs. Revolver

I'd think it would be easier in a pinch to cock a hammer using the side of a table or object, than it would be to wrack a slide, and hope it chambered a round. Like in a pinch and if I was having issues with my hands, for sure I would want the revolver. I currently carry a Taurus 856 and just...

    Help me diagnose an issue

I got a Taurus recently and doing research this sounds like one of the common problems. I didn't really have this issue, well - kind of, but I just took the cylinder apart and cleaned and lubed it good, kind of a hassle, but also - just spin the cylinder empty, it should not make clicking...

    steel targets

forget exactly. much much further back for the shotgun. I think we do 50 yards with slugs and it has worked well. Technically, I think we're supposed to be further back, but I haven't seen any pitting on the steel, and lead splatter I just don't think is a concern at that distance.

Ruger Mini Thirty. On the fence.

you'll appreciate the rapid rate of fire plinking if you shoot very many rounds. I have a Mini-14, like the action and the way it works. I don't have a calling for a Mini-30 currently, but wouldn't hesistate to get a decent one. I don't know with the 30 if the current ones are better...

    Bag for Steel Targets

I was going to say that is what duct tape is for, but the canvas bag idea seems so obvious now having heard that from others, I'm on that bandwagon.

    Mark type Rugers

The MK2 to my understanding, is when the last round hold open was added.

Why Do You Carry A Gun?

because when seconds count, the police are minutes away.

    Loading 5 in a revolver

My Taurus 856 Owners manual said to load 5, so - I do it that way. I'd probably do it that way anyways.

King of modern defense revolvers: S&W 686+

2.8 pounds, for the 686. For actual carry, I'd be hard pressed to think these models beat out all the ULs, that weigh basically a pound.

    Bag for Steel Targets

I put mine in a basic cardboard box, reinforced with duct tape, and some extra pieces of cardboard as spacers.

    A question about cylinder jamming

look for burs or dings on the edge of the recoil shield. run your finger around and see if you feel anything rough, smooth it off with a small file and stone if you find anything. load one case and see if you can figure out where in the rotation it is binding.

Trying to decide on only one bullet for 357

one bullet is a good idea, but I'd also just pick one powder at a time, and then find loads for just a plinking light load, and one that is more of a potent load, certainly would have less drop at range. make notes and work through the powders, but I'd load and test each of them separately. I...
