    Turkey chokes

Patterning a turkey gun is much like working on a load for a rifle, each gun is different. If I were you and money was no object I'd just buy a quality choke and try it out. If it gives you the results you want, great. If not, sell it and try another. The big names have already been mentioned...

    Dangerous plants

I got a bad case of poison ivy last spring, first time in my life. Nothing I tried would help till a friend gave me a home remedy of jewell weed and olive oil mixture. Cleared it up in a couple days. Got another case several months later and used the jewell weed mixture with the same results. It...

    Turkey hunting - starting out

I'm no expert but something I've developed over the years is patience. If a tom is gobbling and gets quiet all of a sudden dont just give up on him, hang tight and pay attention he might be sneaking in on you. There's so much that goes into it I could talk about it all day. One thing for sure...

Ethics of killing animals and their status as Game vs Predators vs Fur-bearing vs Varmint/Pest.

Wish I lived closer to you, I'd love to give you a hand with those "worthless" turkey's in the spring

    Recommend a gun cleaning kit

I'm in the market for a new gun cleaning kit, the one I have now just doesn't get it and its time for a new one. I'm hoping you guys can recommend a good kit for me. I dont have a lot of guns, .243, 25-06, .264 couple .22's, .17 hmr and a couple 12 gauges. Most kits I see have a cable instead of...

    IMR 4064 Substitute

Yeah sorry my dad just recently picked up some 85 gr Sierras, but the bullet I had trouble finding a load for was Hornaday 65 gr. V-max. That Hodgdon link had all kinds of alternatives. Thanks a bunch guys.

    IMR 4064 Substitute

I get that its jot identical to 4064 just wondering if I could expect similar results. The only load I had data for was with 4064 but with the above link I think I can find others

    IMR 4064 Substitute

We'll be reloading for 6mm Remington. Very light bullets though, 85 grain i think. It was tough to even find a load for this gun with a bullet that light since the gun has a 1:10 twist. I'm certainly open to any suggestions

    IMR 4064 Substitute

Can't find 4064 around here but one LGS had 4166. Is that a safe substitute?

    6mm bullet for 1:10 twist

They used to reload back in the day but haven’t for many years now so there’s some controversy over whether it ever shot factory loads that well. When they did reload no one remembers what train bullets they used. He checked the scope and mounts and even tried a different scope with no...

    6mm bullet for 1:10 twist

Have a question for you all, I'll try to provide s much info as I can. I have a relative who used to hunt with his uncles 6mm Remington probably 25 years ago. The gun changed hands a few times and I ended up with it by chance a few years ago and gave it to my relative. He says the gun used to...

What to do With Dead Varmints?

Knew a kid in high school that used groundhogs he shot to attract catfish. I think he would let them lay for a day or two then put them in a sack with a couple large rocks and drop it in the river. Come back in a couple days and fish there. He swore by it but I've never tried it so can't speak...

Need a 243 win bullet for white tail at 150 to 250 yards

I hunted with 243 for a while when I was a kid. We didn't reload back then but the best ammo I used was Winchester Supremes. I believe they use the Nosler silver tip ballistic tip. I had a lot of the same issues as your lady friend with other ammo but not the Supremes
