    Classic case of self defense.

http://www.sltrib.com/ci_10499013 Um, Officer McLachlan, how about defense of life? I think property is secondary here. The man was obviously there with malice aforethought. Absolutely spot-on, A+ self-defense case.

    It doesn't look promising for H.R. 6691.

They've rounded up the usual suspects to denounce the bill in front of committee... http://talkradionews.com/2008/09/dc-police-say-looser-guns-laws-would-make-their-jobs-harder/

"Accidentally" bought some .45 ACP +P. Is it safe to shoot in my SA Mil-Spec 1911?

I have a Springfield Mil-Spec full size 1911. I picked up some Federal Hydra-shok 185 gr. +P ammo. The SA 1911 manual implies that +P is safe to fire in all of their 5" full size guns, however I've also read that the Mil-Spec has a two-piece fused barrel. Is this +P gonna take it apart...

Another anti-gun editorial from WaPo, RE: H.R. 6691

I wonder just how many of the residents favor the gun bans as they stand? This editorial seems to think that the D.C. mayor's office actually represents the people of D.C. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/07/AR2008090701982.html

I love Utah. Peeping Toms, not so much.

Good story, nobody got hurt, but the guy was reckless with his warning shot, and what's with the wife feeling bad about it?? http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=4120128 Homeowner catches peeping Tom August 27th, 2008 @ 9:51pm By Sandra Yi Police have arrested a Cache County man accused...

    Interesting student rights group.

http://www.thefire.org Apparently they only see 1st amendment issues as important individual student rights. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say they're too liberal to consider 2A issues... Does anyone know more?

    Exhibit your rifles.

I know, a lot of you hate "family photos," for various reasons, so those that do, you don't need to post or comment here. For those who have no objection, exhibit your rifles here, I love seeing pics! I will start: I even threw up a little page on my new Mosin here to show to some friends.

Ok, what's my problem with Hollowpoints?

I went to the range today. I recently filed my application for a Utah Concealed Firearm Permit, and I've got a few guns I think I'd like to carry. I've always had a few boxes of hollowpoints laying around, and I load those in my guns for home defense, but I've never actually shot them. My...

    Everybody makes mistakes.

I was watching the special features for the movie "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg, which a lot of you know is based on "Point of Impact" by Stephen Hunter. So their gun technical adviser on the movie was a guy from Front Sight, Patrick Garrity. Anyway, at one point, he calls an M4 clearly...

I want to thank Correia for the great CCW class yesterday.

Larry, I really really enjoyed your class, even though you stabbed my wife ;) I really want to do your pistol course sometime, although I won't be able to attend in August. I'll keep checking back with FBMG for other opportunities. Folks if you have the chance to attend Larry's CCW class tor...

Utah Gov. proposes changes to Utah Concealed Permit law.

He wants to hinge out-of-staters obtaining a Utah permit on completing the training course IN the state. You would have to visit Utah to take the class. Interesting idea indeed. I can see his point. Let's generate some tax revenue we're not generating by letting the class be taught everywhere...

Tons of Pro-Gun comments on typically liberal blog. RE: Heller.

Interesting comments section. http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/06/26/supreme-court-strikes-down-dc-gun-ban/#comments I'm telling you, there are a lot of liberal gun owners. It's just the minority loudmouth antis that get the attention.

Things I learned at the range today.

I learned that Sellier & Belliot red box 158 Gr. LRN .38 Special is really cheap ammo. I put some in my new J-Frame Airweight, and the recoil unseated two of the bullets far enough to stop the cylinder from rotating before I stopped using it. Magtech LRN didn't have a problem. I learned that...
