    642 Club Part Three

I had a strange parts failure on my 442 at the range yesterday. I was shooting when the cylinder release flew off the gun. I found the release, but not whatever part keeps it on the gun. My 442 is less than a year old, so I requested a label from S&W; I presume they'll fix it on their dime...

    Which .38 Snub

Own and carry a S&W 442 pro, but wouldn't advise against buying a Ruger LCR either :)

Kahr CM9 as deep conceal EDC gun - night sights

Have one, love it. I opted for a front tritium sight only. Dawson Precision sells a front sight and it's easy as pie to install yourself.

    Smith & Wesson 442 airweight

The apex tactical spring kit makes the trigger noticably better :-)

CCW, tell me where I am so against the grain

Where are you wearing the IWB holster? Have you ever tried more than one? You need to find one that works for you. Have you tried the CompTac MTAC or Crossbreed Supertuck? IMO- They're two of the best IWBs on the market as far as comfort and concealability goes.

Woman screaming for help last night

Weapon mounted lights are not replacements for a flashlight. Using a weapon mounted light as a flashlight breaks one of the basic rules of gun safety...

Does anyone like their Sigs without Hogue grips?

I prefer the Hogue Recheckered Sig Factory Grips on my duty P220. On my P245, I like the regular Sig Factory Grips :)

Should I Start Buying Different Ammo?

I voted for buying ammo for guns you own, but if you have surplus cash and want to stock up now, it might not be a bad idea. I just hope you don't end up like me, stuck with 1000 rounds of ammo for a gun that you don't own yet and won't be able to buy for a year or so...

has anyone used XS big dot sights?

I had them and hated them. Needless to say, they've been replaced by a standard 3 dot NS setup. I'm sure they work well for defense, but I just couldn't get used to the sight picture, not to mention that my duty gun has 3 dot sights on it.

    NEW SIG Conversion KITS .22LR

Unfortunately not...Maybe in the future one will come out, but I doubt it.

Where to buy "Police Trade in" Glocks?

What's your location? If by chance, you happen to be in Wisconsin, I know a couple local dealers that sell them.

Video: LEO takes on 3 during armed robbery.

The cop was being fired upon by a bg in the vehicle, he didn't shoot to "mark the vehicle".

Anyone carry DA/SA auto with safety off?

My Sigs don't have safeties, just a decocking lever, so yes, I carry my DA/SA autos with safety off. No, I don't carry them cocked.

Best .45 caliber auto for under $800...

XD .45 compact or a Sig P220 in DAK :)

No guns in house for probation/DUI

I don't know anyone injured or killed by drunks, I'm just sick of seeing the same ones arrested over and over and just getting slapped on the wrist

    Summer CCW options.

What about the Walther PPS? 9mm is actually cheaper than .380 ammo and more effective...it's a slim little gun.

Sig 220 shooters, what magazines do you use?

I use both the new and old style Sig brand magazines. Both work well, but I prefer the new style. The new ones have a "dimple" that prevents the top round in the mag from jumping forwards under recoil. I haven't had any malfunctions with the old style, but it is possible. But like I said, I...

    Sigs

Negative, not possible. I'd still recommend buying one though, they're great for the $$! I paid $270 for mine, you can find them cheap if you look hard!

Anyone else change their opinion of the 9mm lately?

I have no problem with 9mm. It just happens that my duty gun is a Sig P220 .45, so I have a Sig P245 .45 for off duty :) I also have a Springfield XD .40sc, I don't mind giving up 1 round for a heavier, larger bullet... I'm buying a 642 for pocket carry, but have my eyes on a PPS in 9mm as well :)
