I just received a new, in the factory box. 3" Python. I was surprised that there was no test fired case in the package. No biggie but I thought all new Colt's were test fired and shipped with the test case. Did they change doing this?
A few years ago I bought a couple of thousand 223 "pulldown" bullets. Too long ago to remember where I got them. Today I decided to test a new load. Did all of the brass prep, priming etc. and all looked good. Checked the brass in the Lyman case gauge and all was fine. Loaded the bullets...
I am lucky enough to receive 2 cases of small rifle primers, both Tula. One case is SRMag and the other is SR. Please look at the note with the primers. It claims to use the SR with extruded powder only and not "full "loads". these will be used for AR 55 abd 62 gr loads
Does this seem correct?
I have a new Springfield Garrison. They come from the factory with nice "thin" wood grips. I would like to put a set of stag or antlers on it but cannot find the "thin" ones. Any leads when to look at them and purchase?
First off..............I'm a newbie to reloading lead bullets, always used jacketed. I came across a couple thousand 230 "softball" Missouri bullets. I loaded a few up to the following: 4.5 grs Bullseye, 1.270 OAL. no crimp. Frist shot went bang but the second round fell apart when it...
I searched and didn't find an answer for this. Why are rifle dies not made out of carbide? It seems in the long run carbide would speed up the process.
I'm looking for an OWB holster for the Alaskan that will put the majority of the weight below the top of the belt. I wear a Hanks 1 1/2" gunbelt but find that using the Galaco holster the gun wants to "tip" away from me. If there is a holster that has the trigger guard lower than the belt, I...

Not sure which forum to post this in, I hope it's OK HERE. Are there any laser bore sighters to avoid. I'm looking at the type that fits in the chamber not the muzzle. Looking for 30-30, .357 and .44 mag all in lever guns.
I want a Colt 1911...the older the better but I cannot afford what the CMP guns are being sold for. I never heard of a "reissue" 1911. I just came this on Gun Broker...........https://www.gunbroker.com/item/916454559
What are your thoughts on this gun? It's used and some "rust" around the...
but I don't want to make a dumb mistake. I just received a new to me, Model 94. It came with a Williams peep sight which I don't like. I took the peep off and put a buckhorn on but now have two holes where the peep was mounted. I want to think the holes are threaded 8-40 but I could be...
I got to send a little time yesterday making some treats for my new "94".............. IMR 4227 (23gr) with a 240 gr bit of icing on top. First time I had enough free time in months.
I'm trying to remove a blank dovetail for the past hour. Up to a 3 lb sledge and brass punch. It won't budge. soaking it in Kroil. Pushing left to right. Any ideas how to get it out? I do not have a sight pusher. I don't care if I destroy the blank but don't want to hurt the gun. Ideas???
last night I was working on an AR. Before I started I looked down on my work bench and saw a spring that I do not recognize......no idea where it came from. It's about 3/8" long x ~.010 dia. and very fine wire. The last three guns I have worked on were an AR (I'm about 99.999% sure it is not...
I have always wanted a shooter Colt WWII era 1911 but don't have the $$$$. I just saw in the local paper ads that Sportsmans Whse. is running a sale on the plain jane Remington 1911 for $399. I know nothing about the Remington. For a truck gun/shooter is this a decent 1911 at that price...
I have a Remmy 700 in 280. My favorite gun to hunt with. I am trying to date it but I cannot make out the code on the barrel. I think the last letter should indicate the year but I cannot come up with what it is. Can anyone look at this and help me out?
On a 1980 mfg date model 700 there are two receiver plugs on the left side at the rear of the receiver. What is the purpose of having threaded holes there? The factory stock covers about 1/2 of each screw head so if something were to be attached there the stock would need to be modified.
