    RCBS ChargeMaster 1500 Scale

Sounds like it, apparently I got two bad ones. I ordered mine on the web--perhaps they got banged around in shipping. I have also read that some older models were much slower. If I buy another one, I will buy locally, and make sure its fresh stock... If I could be seating a bullet while...

    Information on stag grips

Man, this thread is painful. #1 I love stag's, they're expensive, and I love stag's... #2 I love 1911's and this thread reminds me I have no polished 38 super. So far I've resisted the Super 38, because brass costs a pretty penny and no one shoots it around here... But I can't resist...

    Going Magnum - .44 or .357??

I went through a similar thought process recently. I actually already had a 45ACP wheelgun; I am a big fan of the 45, found a nice S&W M22, and bought it. I don't shoot it much, though. I find I like the 45ACP through a 1911 much more; the recoil of the M22 is a little much with the slim...

    Recomend me a nice NON 45acp 1911

    "They" have since 1929 :neener:

Clays vs. Titegroup with S&W 642 & Berries 158 gr. HP

Nice. Congrats, BTW, on the new job. I like Bullseye a LOT. A great powder for "mouse fart" target 38 spl. loads... The classic 2.7gr under a 148gr DEWC and all that. I actually settled on 2.8gr under a goofy plated 148gr I buy locally, and really enjoy it. In a scandium snubby, that...

    RCBS ChargeMaster 1500 Scale

I'm not sure if you're looking at the scale only, or the combo... In any case, I had the combo for a bit but returned it. I haven't gotten into rifle yet (although I plan to), and I am convinced this scale is not made for pistol use. My first example wouldn't hold a zero to save its life...

    Recomend me a nice NON 45acp 1911

No doubt in my mind at all that you want a bright stainless 38 super. Super 38 was developed in the 20's, and has a LONG history with the 1911. Feeds better than 9mm in the 1911 platform, and is hotter (if you handload). And there's NOTHING more pimp than a bright stainless Colt Super 38...

    Glock21SF or Glock30SF ?

1911! That's what I carry. The perfect size, feel, shootability, and concealment profile. However, Of the choices above, I'd take the G21SF. I like the way the 21SF feels in my hand. I thought I'd LOVE the G30SF, as the size is so small, but it doesn't feel right to me. The grip doesn't...

    Colt Combat Commander 9mm (pic)

Nice grab! I'd like one of those, someday. BTW--the pistol will have more meaning when you hand it down if you carry and shoot it. IMO YMMV, of course.

Sig 239: buy it in 9mm or .40S&W?

The P239 is a great CCW! I had one in 9mm for a few years. Single-stacks fit me better, too, and I always felt more comfortable with my P239 than my P228. With the stock grips it was a tad too thin, actually, and torqued around in my hand in recoil. Hogues or Nill's will cure that. I...

Who the heck buys these things?

AnaxImperator, those are some oogly pistols. I visited Rothenberg od Tauber last year with my wife... Lovely little town. I didn't see that shop, where was it? Speaking of ridiculous Lugers.. I stopped by a gun show and there was a dealer with perhaps 35-45 Lugers, all in really nice...

    Bullet Seating

LOL, yeah, I guess I took for granted that everyone would know case widths for 45ACP by heart :D Sometimes I forget that there are other calibers out there! Back to your regularly scheduled program... :o Of course, my point was simply that "it happens"

    Bullet Seating

My 1911's shorten factory Hornady 230gr TAP by .002-.003", and my reloads by .003-.005. I don't worry about it, as that much (or little) shouldn't make a difference... But I duly noted the slightly larger change in my loads, and won't be exploring the outer edge of the loading envelope with...

    Why A Snubnose?

I believe it, Old Fuff! I only have a 25-yard range to practice on, but I have done pretty well with the 'ol snub at those distances. It just takes a little faith. I always marvel at the TINY barrel when I'm cleaning the thing after a range session, and the fact that I can make a can dance...

    Information on stag grips

Very, very nice. As much as I like Stag on nickel/stainless... I *really* like it on blue. It brings out the ivory color. Wow. Thanks for sharing :)

    1911's

There are many reasons, among them: Historical Significance Performance in many of the USA's defining conflicts Reliable Performance Accuracy Fit for many hands Ease of shooting a powerful big-bore caliber Classic look Still the best safety ever invented One of the best CCW weapons...

powders that are difficult to meter

I loaded up another hundred 45acp rounds with Unique last night--out of 100 throws, I had 2 that exhibited the "plowing" feel. That's really not bad. If you end up really liking Unique, as I do, maybe look into the Hornady thrower. It seems to work really well with it once it has some good...

    9mm Remington Brass

What problems have you guys noticed in RP 38 spl brass? I have a ton of the stuff, and haven't had any problems... Although I don't shoot a LOT of 38, so most has only 1 or 2 reloads on them so far. As to brass "feel"... I've been reloading a lot of 45acp lately and I can call out the...

    Why A Snubnose?

Mike: I think carrying concealed is probably even easier nowadays with cellphones and the like on everyone's belt. No one thinks twice about a small print near your belt location. Dairycreek: that's some good snub shooting! I can't quite shoot my snub as well as my 1911, in fast fire...
