Guns you thought you’d like but didn’t…

Ruger Redhawk Sig 365XL w/ Romeo 1….Hated the optic, balance was underwhelming (I love my EDC Sig 365! ) Browning Abolt .270…..Absolutely the MOST inaccurate rifle I’ve ever owned. Fist-sized 100 yd. groups were the best it would manage with every factory load I tried and most reloads…Terrible

Interesting old Press I saw for sale.

I grew up ordering “ stuff “ thru Herters. Their biggest problem was they drop-shipped almost everything since they had very little product in “their” warehousees. Consequently, there was usually a long wait and orders dribbled in ( randomly &extremely late ! ) this drove me bonkers!! To their...

    Tree stand lifespan

When I hunted I would ALWAYS replace critical hardware with Grade 8 even on brand new stands. I never used wing nuts as most are pacific rim garbage.Just carried a small adjustable wrench. Also a decent safety strap system is just as important as the stand.

    Bearing it all

First of all I tuned this guy out the moment he suggested “Semi ANYTHING” as a viable option for large bear defense! For long guns…bolt action….Period Shotguns …pump action with extended mag …Period Handgun backup …Revolver…Period Personally, as to ‘ Minimum caliber’ I wouldn’t bank my bacon...

Rimfire rifle vs shotgun for squirrel

Rimfire all the way… ( If) shotgun is the only option I’ll stay home thank you very much but that’s just me. My CZ 17 Mach2 is just too much fun to leave at home….

    Who squirrel hunts?

Do to health reasons, my deer hunting days are history, so squirrel hunting is about all I do. I loved it as a kid and still do. The pace is slower, and more relaxing, and enjoyable even if I return empty-handed. Early in the season when oaks and hickory mast and leaves are thick and shots are...

Best multi tool for any/all situations ?

I own an original Leatherman 300 and recently bought a Surge. Had I known about the Wave Plus it would have been my pick. IMO the Wave Plus has all the tools I use most plus replaceable wire cutter jaw AND scissors without the bulk and extra weight. The perfect compromise...

    Would you buy current M700?

I own vintage 700s and have few complaints, When Remington QC started taking a nosedive, I was willing to give "Big Green" the benefit of the doubt, convincing myself that it was a merely a hiccup until Cerebus reared it's ugly head. What I had hoped were "isolated cases" of substandard...

    Remington 740, 742, 7400

:thumbup:RUN don't walk away from these models! Each iteration of this rifle was progressively worse than its predecessor! Terrible design, ...the bolt rails will not tolerate the least bit of grime and even with pristine mantainance they are famous for feed/ejection problems and lousy accuracy...

Daily Beast: Hillary Really Is Coming For Your Guns

Democrats have a short memory when it comes to gun control issues. Al Gore lost his home state (Tennessee) in his bid for POTUS largely due to his anti-gun stance. For Swillary to jump on this same bandwagon so early in the game shows just how desperate she really is!

EVERYONE at the gun range is STARING at ME!! (if so, how to ignore)

My first question to you would be is the range supervised. If the answer is NO then there could be legitimate reasons for folk's "staring". Just a few possibilities; The first an MOST important could be that you are handling your firearms in an unsafe matter, ie; poor muzzle discipline...

109 Years of Winchester Pump Shotguns in 3 basic examples

Great Video, my friend. I too have had a love affair with the Win M12 since 1963 when my Browning A5 Light-Twenty needed repair during dove season and the gunshop owner offered me a circa '49 M12 20 ga. as a loner. I really gave that shotgun a workout and got to use it into quail season as...
