Hogue slip on grip, or similar, for Sig P226 E2

I wonder if anyone could help me. I have been unable to find a grip sleeve specifically for the E2 grip of the Sig P226. Is this because the Hogue grip for the original wider grip also fits the E2? It doesn't have to be Hogue. Pachmayr or any other brand would be fine. Thank you.

    Glock 25 cent trigger job.

I watched a youtube video of this cost effective work, and decided I'd like to give it a try. If nothing else, it will force me to detail strip my Glock. The guy in the video polished the parts with Flitz. I can't get that here. Can anyone tell me if Brasso will also work, or is it too...

Uncle Mikes Sidekick holster vs Bianchi AccuMold.

I want an inexpensive range holster for my Taurus 82 4" revolver, and wonder which would be best. I know most people don't like nylon holsters, but it would only be for range use, and, in any case, I'm limited in choice because of my location. Another choice would be the Bianchi unlined...

    Black paint on CZ pistols?

Just wondered how effective this is. It stratches, I know, but how resistant is it to rust?

Accidentally dry fired my Taurus 82.

I was cleaning it at the time. The owners manual says not to dry fire. I assume this means dry firing practice, which I never do, and that the occasional accidental discharge is not a problem for the firing pin. Would appreciate your advice.

    Maverick 88 tube magazine disassembly.

I've broken down and reassembled my gun several times, but I've never yet got inside the magazine tube to clean it along with the follower and spring, and I can't find any instructions. Does it just screw out in an anticlockwise direction? Is it a simple operation, or are the threads likely...

My first time shooting a snubbie - a Ruger LCR.

Rented one at the range today. It was the standard 38 with the soft Hogue grips. Overall, I loved the gun. I shot it at about 8-10 yards, and managed to get most of my shots inside a head size target, using Remington 130 grain, jacketed, ball bullets. The trigger was as good as I'd heard, and...

Pin punch, roll pin punch or drift punch?

Not having an engineering background, I've never properly understood the purpose of the different types of punches available and their uses. What should I be using to remove the trigger housing pins and steel buffer pin on my Ruger 10/22? What about the trigger housing pins on my CZ 452...

    Makarov firing pin.

When I break down my Mak I lightly brush the firing pin and channel with oil and then wipe it off - for the sake of rust prevention. Am I doing the right thing, or should I leave them both bone dry?

    Prostaff 2-7x32 and 3-9x40?

Are either of these scopes suitable for 22lr? How far do they focus down on lowest magnification?

    Cleaning the Ruger 10/22 receiver.

Normally I clean my guns after every shooting session, however brief. Don't know if this is a good idea with a Ruger 10/22. Field stripping is easy enough, but I'm wondering if removing and reinstalling the steel stock bolt, trigger assembly pins and recoil pin in an aluminum receiver...

    Scope ring inserts.

I recently bought a pair of steel scope mounts that came with four very thin black plastic strips, which I assume are inserts. These are not top of the line mounts, but they weren't cheap and seem serviceable. The brand name is Shilpa, the most popular brand (often the only one) in S.America...

Heavy scope on a Ruger 10/22 carbine.

I finally got my Ruger 10/22 scoped up with an old Simmons ProAir 4-12x40 AO - the only scope I have available for it at the moment. It's quite a heavy scope, and I added to the weight by using vertical split ring steel mounts to attach it to the rail. All that weight began to worry me. I...

    Bushnell rimfire 3-9x32?

I want to put an inexpensive scope on my new Ruger 10/22. I need something that will do a reasonable job out to about 50 or 70 yards. In fact most of my shooting will be done at only 30 yards. There is very little choice in scopes here. Is the Bushnell a reasonable option?

Mistake disassembling my new Ruger 10/22.

I forgot to cock the hammer before breaking the gun down. I realised this when the trigger assembly came out and the hammer was up. I just pushed it back to the cocked postion with my finger until it clicked, and then put the ejector into the correct place. Does this matter, or might I...

Is it necessary to dry fire a Ruger 10/22 before breaking it down?

I've just bought one, and want to break it down for initial cleaning. I've watched a couple of videos, and some leave it cocked and others pull the trigger before disassembly. Which is best?

    Charter Arms 22 revolvers?

A shipment of these has just arrived in one of the gunshops. Most are stainless, and in 22lr, although there also 38sp. It's the 22 I'm interested in, since, in these days of austerity, that's the caliber I shoot more than anything else. They come with two and four inch barrels and hold...

Why do Ruger advise against disassembling their box magazines?

I've just been reading the 10/22 owners handbook, and was surprised to learn this. I don't have access to products that can be safely used to flush out a mag. The only stuff I can get here is harmful to plastic. Would it be OK for me to use a bit of denatured alcohol as an alternative...

Polymer factory stock on new Ruger 10/22?

Could anyone tell me if this looks cheap or is of reasonable quality? Would you take one in preference to the standard birch stock? Apart from rust resistance, is there any other benefit from having the stock stainless barrel?

I was going to buy a Marlin 60, but now I'm not sure.

The Ruger 10/22s have arrived at my local gunshop. As a CZ452 owner, I've come to appreciate build quality in an economic package, and to expect accuracy from a 22, but I've always wanted a semi for the fun factor. I want a factory model to plink with. Even if I wanted to spend money on...
