How many CCW guns is enough?

The choice of CCW firearm and setup should be a function of your lifestyle, wardrobe, and geographic area. Don't be afraid to experiment with a setup that fits your circumstances. It takes time to reach the right solutions.

Do You Give Out Your Serial Number?

But as it pertains to a generic instruction manual, what would be the reason to provide a serial number, Unless there are multiple generations of the same make/model variants? , but in most cases, that is not applicable. The caller can simply say that for example. 1. S&W: First generation...

    Norway is going downhill..

I agree with you 100%. The Scandanavian nations have a rich firearms heritage and its a shame to see this history and proficiency being squandered by gun grabbing tricksters who reserve their knee jerk reactions to magic numbers and so called "magnum" calibers. I am sure that they wont stop...

Do You Give Out Your Serial Number?

There should have been no reason to ask for it. What model/caliber was it ?, just curious. Most firearms manufacturers are so concerned about liability, they would be more than eager to mail you an instruction manual. Most even have it on their website in PDF/Adobe format for easy printout...

Accidental Shooting at La Vista Firing Range

Semi Automatic Pistol: 1. Point in safest direction. 2. Drop magazine 3. Rack the slide several times (while keeping #1 very much in mind), and then lock the slide back (while keeping #1 very much in mind.) 4. Repeat #1.

    Difficult Choice

I just had a novel idea, if you can afford it, get all of them. Don't have to do it all at once, but it would be an interesting undertaking.

Noticed something interesting about my bank courier's vehicle: thoughts?

czdavid and everyone else: What do you think the bank can do to minimize the potential threat of critical documents being stolen with respect to identity theft from these marked vehicles? Do you think the vehicles should be unmarked or should armored car (openly armed uniformed) services be...

Noticed something interesting about my bank courier's vehicle: thoughts?

bluestarlizzard: not 100% true, I had a bank courier who was a CCW permit student of mine and he said that they also transport mortgage documents and checks, and those have the critical data mentioned above.

Noticed something interesting about my bank courier's vehicle: thoughts?

Went to my local bank this morning to make a deposit. (medium size regional state bank). I didn't use the drivethru, but went inside. Upon completion of my transaction, I walked outside and saw the bank courier exit as well and enter his vehicle. This gentleman is not with Brinks or Wells...

    Wise arse remark?

I believe you acted correctly and I would have done the same things. I commend you for it. Your actions were well within the 1st & 2nd ammendments. I think the "wise arse" remark was on his part.

All of your choices listed are excellent, but if I had to select one , I would go with the Glock 19, in fact; I do!:)

What would you add to a Gun Safety information page?

Great site, I would also add supplementary rules of gun safety, 1. Eye & ear protection requirements and why they are needed. 2. Staying away from alcohol and drugs in a shooting environment. 3. Keeping unathorized parties away from firearms 4. The importance of knowing how your gun...

Forget Tupperware: Taser Parties Are the New Craze

I wonder how many rules of safety are overtly violated at these "taser parties" under the disturbingly dangerous assumption that LLD's (less lethal devices) cannot injure or do very serious damage. LEOs undergo extensive training in the use/application/deployment of all LLDs, not just...

LE agencies leaving GLOCK for M & P....

I think I have this figured out, please correct me if I am wrong. 1. Both the S&W M&P line and Glocks line offer excellent pistols which are both dependable, reliable, and have a strong aftermarket support system from the manufacturer. 2. The person who controls the purse strings and...

Charles Daly Wants to Hear From You!

I have several Charles Daly 1911s, including my favorite, which is the EFS. They are exceptional values for the money, but my only gripe with any firearms manufacturer's customer service is that the people answering the phone are not "gun people". They seem indifferent and lack enthusiasm...

    AARP's position on gun ownership

Jim Keenan: "When asked if AARP members might not need to defend themselves, the AARP official stated that "those senile old bats shouldn't be allowed to have any kind of weapon."" <end quote> I'm an NRA certified firearms instructor in Florida, at least a third of my students are over 55...

    XD Compact vs P99c photo?

One of my students had a platform very similar to the P99C, but it was a discontinued S&W clone from a few years back, it shot very well and I had a chance to put a few rounds through it myself. I own full size, compact, and subcompact XD's in 9 , .40SW, and .45GAP. The XD shoots better for me...
