Hello all -- Sorry to post these stories much later than they occurred, but things have been crazy around here (Houston), what with...
Thank goodness harley's no longer carry the OUTLAW or 1% image of thug. They ignored you because you weren't a threat. I'm hoping to get my first Low Rider soon. This is the image I want to project. One that is unique to me...
I haven't actually been camping since I was a "professional camper" 1980-1994 (Infantry Officer) The experience of being an infantryman really spoiled me for the pleasures of the great outdoors and sleeping on the ground. If I was going to do that nowadays, this is how I'd go about it...
This is simpler: If the gun is Double Action it ejects all at once. If Single Action, then only one at a time. The sole exemption is the NAA mini revolver where one must remove the cylinder completely to eject the spent cartridges, and that is a SA gun.
IMHO, a lock blade pocket knife can be explained away as just about anything. I have a CRKT assisted open knife (not a full on auto or switch blade) that locks with a liner type lock and is as rigid open as a fixed blade, razor sharp spear point.
If I carried my Gerber MK I that's has that...
Recently my 27 yr old (step) daughter has expressed a desire to start shooting again. When I married her mom (20 years ago this Aug 20th) she was but 7 years old. Immediately she was drawn to the recreations I was involved in, namely IDPA. Whenever I came home from a match I'd sit her down and...
I once had a BEAUTIFUL S&W M19 with a 4" bbl that was just absolutely the BEST revolver I've ever owned. It was in fact my FIRST handgun ever. I dropped deer with it as a college student at the University of Alabama.
It had a SQUARE butt with beautiful Goncalvo grips. CAme the time 20 years...
As an instructor my guess is that she will probably LIKE the Hi-Power best but that's NOT the gun I'd recommend for her. Have you thought of a Sig with the DAK trigger or maybe an H&K P30 with the LEM trigger?
I can't stand the "BOX O TRUTH" except that it's fun.
It bears no validity in self defense issues. Unless you're attacked by gallon jugs of water.
As long as my primary carry environment is South Florida, I'll stick to my MagSafe loads and RBCD (http://www.rbcd.net). Otherwise my loads are...
Depends on the reason I'm going to the range.
Sounds kinda self explanatory in the question right? Nope. Not in my case.
If I'm shooting an IDPA match, I take my carry gun and only that (unless I'm selling something which I'll put on display at the "safety table"). I take my best competition...

Lessee, I've got two BIG dogs but they're unlikely to terrify anybody (Newfoundlands).
I was at IOBC (Infantry Officer Basic Course) in Fort Benning GA for the last REALLY big Miami riot in 1980. That event spread so fast because a white cop killed a black guy and the whole town was just ripe...
You guys are all missing the problem with these buy-back programs!
#1 It actually increases crime in the area or at least provides a form of legal cover. One of the prerequisites for such a program is to assure the "criminals" that there will be no penalty or check in the transaction.
So why...
Bartholomew Roberts: Did I misunderstand you? Because I took your statement to mean you thought Scalia was saying that there would be no incorporation in the future. If that is indeed what you meant, then I think you are reading the footnote and his opinion wrong.
Scalia is pointing out quite...
