    Barrel swap with a S&W 37

I have a three inch barreled 37. I've always disliked that barrel length in a snubbie. I have all the parts and pieces and a good revolver frame wrench. My question revolves around the aluminum frame and it's barrel threads. I heard years ago that you can't re-barrel an aluminum J frame as...

greyling22: I have one answer for you.

At long last. Back in Jan of '20 I said I'd try some Ti silencer parts in "The Dip". Well, I did. I checked with the shop I bought my silencers from (Silencer Central) and they said now sweat, go for it. It can remove the black finish on the outside of the tube they warned me. So I finally...

    Making an AR pistol.

I have a 16" AR pattern carbine. I want to replace the lower with a new never been anything one (that it's first assembly will be as a pistol), replace the butt stock with a brace and cut the 16" barrel to 10.5. Anyone see any legal issues with this? And that is the sequence of actions I'll...

A question for the collective mind.

What was the earliest production DA/SA or DAO semi-auto pistol in .45 ACP? I can't recall any earlier than the H&K P9S, 1969ish. Thanks. Cat

    Supressor theft.

Hasn't happened to me, I'm just curious about the procedure. I mean beyond informing the local police of a theft. Are there ATF requirements? Thanks. Cat

    SKS/bayonet question.

I recently acquired a Norinco SKS. I seem to recall from years ago that there was some sort of legal kerfluffle regarding the Chinese SKSs and their bayonets and everyone needed to remove them. Does anyone recall what the problem was? Or even better have an ATF linky? Thanks. Cat

    Taking apart a Nylon 66

I've pulled the three screws that are on the outsides of the action. The sheet metal cover that is the 'receiver' will lift slightly, but that's as far as I can get her to go. Help? Cat

    44/45 Revolver speed strips, anyone?

Finally! Here's what those idiots at Bianchi should have done 30 years ago. http://www.tuffproducts.com/home.php I ordered two two-packs to try. They work. Flat work. Forty fours and forty fives fit just like the .357s do in their strips. I tried the .45 Auto Rims and the rims are a...

    Converting a Lithgow .303 to 7.62X54r

A while back someone on this board posted a link on JFPO of someone (named Bill Black, IIRC) who would re-chamber selected Enfields to 7.62X54r. I copied down his phone # I thought and now, when I can afford to do it I find it's the wrong #. And of course now the link's dead and no one at...

For those who are Keith bullet fans.

If you go to www.castbollits.gunloads.com and look in the Group Buy forum you'll see a "Keith Series" group buy in progress for his .45 Colt bullet. This is a not for profit deal, we just do it for the love of casting. Cat

    Thanks Old Fuff

A few months ago I asked in a thread I posted for Tuners help to set up my 1911 so that it would be it's own take down tool. Well, Tuner was still moving and so you kindly answered my thread with the info I needed. So,with your help, I got my SA 1911 set up the way I wanted it. Now...

Question for Tuner I haven't seen you

answer before. How do you adjust the alignment of the rear of the slide with the rear of the receiver? I have two 1911s, one of which the slide is about 1/16th of an inch too far forward, the other is about the same to the rear. If this has been covered, I'm sorry I missed it. I read...

Tuner, I want to build a 1911 for my kid...

and I want to set it up like the original 1911s were, i.e., you can use the pistol itself for it's own take down tool. Can you run through the sequence and actions of which part takes down what for me? I tried serch, no help. I see most of it, including the toe of the mag as a screwdriver...
