How does the single trigger work on a Fox BSE?

LGS has a clean Fox BSE with cut checkering and single trigger for $500, but I'm not sure how that particular single trigger works. On my Browning the ST is selective, but this one appears not to be. Which barrel does it fire first, and is there any way to alter that? Thanks in advance!

Anybody know when the Weaver V9-II W Micro-Trac scope was made...??...

...it is a steel tube 3x9x40 with a widefield type eyepiece. At 14.25" it's a couple inches longer and about 3 oz. heavier than some current scopes of that same magnification. Does not have El Paso markings on it. I would like to know approximates dates of manufacture for possible use on an...

Question for those who deer hunt with polymer ballistic tips...

What happens to the polymer tip after bullet impact? I know it's intended effect on the rest of the bullet, but where does the tip end up at? Does it separate? Ever found one while cleaning the deer? Ever found one in your processed deer meat, or bitten down on one?

Anybody have actual experience with FEDERAL FUSION 95 grain for whitetail?

Haven't whitetail hunted with a .243 in several years, but will this season and already have two boxes of these. Gun will be Winchester 88 with 22 inch barrel. Would be interested in hearing from users of this exact ammo, thanks!

Anybody familiar with vintage Remington Model 700 CARBINES?

Not talking about Model 7's, or 600 or 660, but a true Model 700 factory carbine? I can't find anything about them on Google, but a gun shop in PA has two in stock, one .243 and one .30-06. Have pressed checkering, guessing they date from the 70's. Barrels don't appear shortened, have iron...

Anybody kill a deer with Remington Bronze Points...???...

I am asking for people who have actual experience shooting a deer with the Bronze Points. Not sure if they are still being made or not. I know they were the original ballistic tip, but asking for actual first hand performance results. I have some to use, and they just look so much like FMJ that...

Here's pics of some very unusual S&W revolvers...

...with a couple Colts thrown in. I have a thing for stainless J frame revolvers, and since there is a Model 60 thread going on at this time, thought I'd post pics of some guns that are not commonly seen...

Have you ever had this problem with a Leupold scope...??...

I bought a used Leupold 2x7 Vari-X II from a gun shop. Stepped out on the porch to check out the clarity, it was good, no cosmetic problems with the tube, talked them down to $200 OTD and left with it. Mounted it on a Savage 99 for deer hunting next fall, and today used the laser to bore sight...

    Question about older scopes...

...I recently acquired a vintage rifle with a 6x El Paso Weaver (probably from the 1950's), and wanted to use it with the rifle, but in a field test it had a lot of glare (even in low light) compared to one of my Bushnell Elites. A few years ago I traded a Leupold VXII that I had owned since the...

    Need Savage 99 help please...(pic)...

Here's a pic of two 99 receivers, the top is a 99-C and the bottom a 99-DL, both have the tang safety. I want to mount a receiver aperture sight on the 99-C, and need some advise from you folks knowledgable on that subject. Q1: From searching the internet, it appears my only site option is...

Strange result from deer rifle sight in...your opinion please...

I spent a few hours Friday and today verifying zero on several deer rifles at a 70 yard range in my front yard. Everything was still good from last year, but I had changed scopes on two and had to start from scratch on them. The Ruger M77 .30-06 carbine with "new" Redfield 2-7 was an easy zero...

Here's my "new" 6lb. .30-06, think it will kick much??

It's a 25 year old Ruger M77 Ultra Light Carbine, with 18.5" barrel, shown with a box of shells for scale. I was looking for a carbine for hunting out of pop-ups, and had never seen one of these before, had to get it. I have other .30-06's, so am not looking forward to sighting it in!!

You folks are pretty smart, any idea what this is...??...

For a month or so I have been helping a friend by selling some of his deceased father's stuff on an auction site, my friend is getting all the money. His father was Frank Damron, a championship Camp Perry Shooter in the 1960's. I have been selling a treasure trove of vintage reloading equipment...

Anyone have personal experience with the Remington 750..??..

The LGS has a slightly used 750 synthic carbine in .308. I am usually a walnut and bright blue guy, but the caliber and carbine aspects of this one are calling my name. I tried the Google approach and was surprised to find there is realitively little definitive info out there on the 750, with...

2 Questions on early Marlin 336 - with pic

I recently acquired this 1949 336 in .32 Special, and noticed when I got home that the hole above the 2 aperture sight screws on the left side of the receiver is empty. On my other Marlins lever guns there appears to be a pin or something similar in that hole. As I look at it closer, I am...

Why not slugs from a back bored Mossberg 835?

My son has an early Mossberg 835 that I bought new for him several years ago. It is one of the early ones, barrel is not ported, and has been a great gun. The owner's manual says because the barrel is back bored (over bored some call it) that it should not be used with slugs. I don't understand...

    Deerbarrow...(pic)...

Works great. Only minor problem is finding a path thru the woods wide enough, but a few detours take care of that. Makes going uphill very easy. It is probably more pratical for me since I hunt where I live and don't have to travel with it. It is definitely a labor saver...

Making a fake scrape has worked deer hunting this year...

Using fake scrapes was not previously part of my deer hunting routine, but I am reading a book by Peter Fiduccia that recommends it. At mid-day a couple weeks ago I used a yard rake to clear a spot underneath an overhanging tree limb about 50 yards from one of my ladder stands. I put some doe...

Today March 10 saw a nice buck that still had his horns...

...I took a ride around the dirt roads behind my house this evening about 7pm and saw three groups of deer, 16 in total, all in green fields. In the first bunch of six deer there was one that even without using binocs I could see had a nice rack. With the binocs at about 150 yards he appeared to...
