Please disregaurd my previos post. I should not be on the internet when I am tired. The Spyderco Mule steel that I was referring to is actually 9Cr18Mo. I hope my misinformation did not cause anyone any confusion.
I've used an 8Cr13MoV Syderco Mule almost daily for over 6 months. I cut paper, cardboard, plastic strapping etc. in an industrial setting. I was surprised at how long it stayed sharp. It also was very easy to sharpen to a very sharp edge. I don't have much experience with different steel types...
I just learned of Ron through a video I watched on TNP about the Buck knives at Blade Show 2011. He was character and I learned from his recounting of how the Hoodlum was designed. RIP Ron.
This is very interesting. I might have to try making a knife or two.
Quick question...Can a newer leaf spring be used? Any other source for re-claimed metal to start with?
I would like to know who makes/made revolvers in 9mm and also 45 ACP. I've done some research but I would like to have the knowledge of the collective group. Pics and model numbers would be great. We all love pics.
FWIW, I saw an HK shotgun at a gun show in west palm beach a couple of weeks ago. I even commented to a friend that I didn't know HK made a shotgun. I didn't stop to investigate it because the place was packed and I was on the hunt for THE handgun that I was buying myself for Christmas.
