    Holsters for paraplegics

Recently became paraplegic and confined to wheelchair. Looking for holsters (Colt Cobra, FN High Power, Colt Commander) which would work for me. I have ruled out waistband holsters, and am considering shoulder holsters. This seems problematic for the Colt Cobra, but I like its dead on...

    Ruger Service-9 range visit

Took my new Ruger Service-9 to the range yesterday. Shooting Speer Lawman 124 gr.@ 9 yard targets. There were three FTF's in the very first clip (out of the box), but a little tap solved that problem. No further problems as I ran through 100 rounds. It was pretty darn accurate once I got the...

    Star BM 9mm range report

A number of vendors have been offering the Spanish-made Star BM 9mm for around $250. Having heard that Stars have good reputations, I plopped down for 2 of them. Spring finally came to Puget Sound and I finally got out to the range. These are commander-sized pistols which resemble 1911s, but...

Holsters for new version of Colt Cobra

My understanding is that the dimensions of the newest version of the Colt Cobra are not the same as the earlier ones. Are there any holsters available for the new versions? Any suggestions for CCW?

    loads for Colt 1908 .380

I have an old Colt 1908 in .380. I'm wondering if it can handle modern factory loads. I would like to carry it, but I don't want to beat it to pieces.

    new 1908 Colt in .380

I see Colt is producing some new 1908's in a special edition. Any word on those and is there a possibility of a more "stock" run? I love my old 1908, but don't like to shoot the new "hotter" ammo.

    return of the Colt 1903

Colt has announced that it will do a limited run of the famed 1903 semi-auto pistol. It will be a reproduction of the piston issued to general offices and will have a limited of about 500. I love my 1908 in .380acp and would love a repro version that could handle modern ammo.

    Boresnake Viper stuck in bbl

I have a boresnake Viper stuck in my .223 bbl. I used a rod to see if I could push it out, but I think it made it worse. I have been pouring Kroil down the bbl to see if I could loosen it up. I blame the tassle on the end of the Viper snake as the culprit. Any ideas on how to get it out...

Is Wayne LaPierre a public relations disaster?

NRA exec Wayne LaPierre seems to have no sense of public relations and his apocalyptic rants are doing more harm than good. We have got to stop talking to ourselves and pay attention to others. Just my .02. NRA Lfe Member (pre-1977)

Alt rifles for 7.62x39 AK round?

Wondering if there are bolt action or other alternatives to the dreaded evil AK for 7.62x39? I know that ballistically it is similar to 30-30--but lots of cheap AK rounds.

    Speer squib

Had a squib round in my S&W 642. Store-bought, factory-made Speer Gold-dot .38 sp short bbl. Anyone else have this experience? Being a jacketed round, it was the very devil to get out. Anyway, the round had been resting quietly in the revolver for, maybe a year or two.:(

    How to clear a "squib"?

While shooting my SW 642 yesterday, instead of a "bang", I heard a "pfffft." Sure enough, there is a Speer Gold Dot bullet sticking about half-way out the bbl. What is the best way to dislodge this sucker without damaging my Smith? (Mea Culpa, it has been a long time since I fired this...

    Caracal reliability, service

I handled a Caracal at the gunshow today and was really impressed with how it fit my hand. I've read a number of review and comments that speak favorably of it. My concern is with parts and service. Are parts available? Is there reasonably competant customer service somewhere?

    Hold-over for 30/30?

There is a match coming up which involves shooting at 100yds and 200yds. I have a Win 94 in 30/30 that I would like to use. What kind of ammo would be best for these distances--and how much holdover is needed for each?
