    How hot without a chrony?

All the small primered rifle cartridges that I reload now get a magnum primer. I'm using my standard small rifle primer stash in pistol cartridges.

    Vision not that good anymore...

What a great way to re-purpose things that would otherwise be discarded! Thanks for the ideas.

How often do you replace your tumbling media?

Yeah, it's tough to do in a gale force wind. Another consideration is where you do this.....obviously there are contaminants in the dust so one needs to be careful about allowing it to go anyplace that you don't want it to go. You can also accomplish the same thing with a small fan placed in...

How often do you replace your tumbling media?

Run it until it doesn't work any more......I was using the dryer sheet method to clean out the dust but I found an even better (easier) way a few months ago.....I cleaned a batch of cases with the tumbler sitting outside in a slight breeze with the cover off......bingo.....no more dust.

    Flash hole uniforming

I'm in the waste of time camp....never seen it make a measurable difference in group size.....it's one of those steps that falls into the "I've got way too much free time on my hands" category......kinda like dwell time and primer pocket uniforming.

    Savage M12FV, 6.5 Creedmoor: a $319 Rifle

I love my Savages too....and they are very accurate. But one or 2 small groups does not a 1/4" rifle make. If it does in fact shoot like that group after group you've got a real gem.....time will tell though. You'd do really well in the factory rifle classes here at my club for sure.

How often do you lube your Dillon 550 Press?

Whenever it needs it.....You can tell when it's time.

    6mmAR is almost ready.....

If I could find my scale I'd give you an answer....as of right now I'd say 12 pounds or so.

    6mmAR is almost ready.....

Just got a PSA lower today (I'm an A2 kinda guy) and put my Sabreco 6mmAR upper with a 26" Hart barrel on it.....Yes it's big and bulky and no I don't plan on playing tactical operator with it. This will be a target/varmint rifle. By "almost ready" I mean that there's still a lot of load workup...

    6mm AR/Gendel ?

Agreed. I've got an AR15 upper chambered in 6mmAR. There's really nothing to making brass and loading for it.

    Better accuracy potential?

Same here....Never had a BVSS that didn't shoot....I suspect that the 12FV wouldn't be far behind. With the price of the 12FV being what it is there's no need to compare the two. Go with Savage's flagship action and be happy.

Is there a run on high caps?

Certainly different disciplines require differing amounts and types of ammo. Like I said the vast majority of my shooting is target/load testing and hunting tiny critters way out there shooting which is done from positions not conducive to having a huge mag sticking out of the mag well. I'm...

Is there a run on high caps?

I can understand loading mags in advance but for me to shoot 100-200 rounds in one range session would take all day.....loading a mag with 5 rounds only takes a few seconds so it's not that big of a deal.....and like I said, the ammo that I shoot is much to valuable for me to just blast it away...

Is there a run on high caps?

Personally I have no use for 30 round magazines....Each of my rifles came with a couple and the mags have just sat in my parts box for years. Since my AR's are used for hunting and target shooting the majority of my mags are 5 and 10 rounders. You guys can buy up all the big boys......and worry...

    Best rifle and scope combination?

If you are shooting varmints then you want a rifle with a varmint weight barrel. Shooting at prairie dogs will heat up a pencil barrel way too fast and you'll find yourself sitting around waiting for it to cool..... I have a Remington SPS 204 Varmint that has proven to be a very accurate...

    6.5 Grendel vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

I chose the 6.5 Grendel for 3 reasons......(of course your interests might vary but hey, we're here so I might as well give some input) First of all I wanted a round that would fit in an AR15 platform and hit much harder than the 223. I've been through the AR10 phase and found the rifles just...

    AR Barrel Break-In

Wouldn't it stand to reason that a barrel would break in over the course of regular shooting and cleaning routines? I tried the shoot, clean, shoot, clean business years ago.....It didn't take long to figure out that it was a waste of time and ammo......if a barrel is going to smooth out...

    Match bullet journey

I wish I lived close to you.....I've got the tools to unscrew that barrel and get a really good look at it.....Maybe Savage needs to hear about this?

    Match bullet journey

Forgive me for coming late to the party. You've obviously been talking about this rifle on the forum.....but I haven't seen the other threads. I have owned a lot of Savage rifles over the years.....most of them in 223 Remington. Never has one not allowed me to seat the bullets to the...

    Match bullet journey

A couple questions for you: Why do you want to shoot such a heavy bullet? Are you shooting 300+ yards? Have you seated any of those bullets to the book recommended overall length? How did you measure your distance to the lands? I have loaded many, many rounds with great success by seating...
