Interesting evening with my Lee Auto Pro Disk measure

Hello everyone, For starters, I think this is a great measure and I use it for reloading all of my pistol ammo. However, I mainly use it with the micro charge bar instead of the discs, since it allows me to change calibers/charges without having to take it apart at all - just turn the...

Putting a small LED on Lee Classic Turret Press

Hello everyone, Just trying to see what everyone has figured out on hanging a small light to check powder drops on a Lee Classic Turret Press. I just got this thing and am enjoying everything about it except that it is a little difficult to see the height of the powder charge in my cases. Any...

Anyone reloading here in Hampton Roads, VA?

I am looking for a local vendor of any of the Accurate brand powders. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure one out, so if any of you have any suggestions please let me know. I may be able to swing the online route if I can get a couple of reloading buddies to buy in with me, but I want to...

    Made my own snap caps

Are these a good idea or am I setting myself up for failure? Sorry for the low res pics but all I have handy at the moment is my cell phone camera. Even with the low res though, you can see that I am getting some weird shapes to my cases when I seat my bullets. Any ideas why that would be...

    Carrying while skiing?

On my way to go skiing with my family and was trying to think of how to carry while skiing. So who has done it and what advice can you offer up? Merry Christmas to all :) Damian

Who zeros their AR15s at 25 yards?

A couple of friends at work told me it is a good zero due to it being less than a half inch off at 200 yards. Is this a good idea? I have mine zero'd at 100 yards right now and have been thinking of maybe following their advice just for the fun of it, I mean who needs another 'reason' to go...

Am I using too slow of a powder for AR15?

I am loading with a Hornady 75gr BTHP and A-Max's with 24.2gr of R-15 in my 14.5 PFH Chrome-lined barrel. I am getting decent grouping and accuracy with it, but could I get better grouping (and easier metering) with a faster ball powder like 748 or the likes? Damian

    .223 Hornady A-Max load differences

Who is using the 75gr A-Max's with Reloader 15? What is the difference you have seen for powder charge with the difference being the bullet only (from the 75gr BTHP)? I wanted to try them out for maybe some slightly better performance with +300yard shots. Thank you all in advance, Damian

Just had to test my careful skills

Good evening everyone, I bought some Cor'bon Pow'rball ammo and noticed that over time (chambering, loading, etc) the rounds had gotten a shorter OAL, 1.175 +-.010 was the average. Luckily, I had some NIB so I measured them out to get a good OAL average of 1.265. So I ended up pulling them...

    Shotgun shell holders/speedloaders

Hello everyone, Today while shooting 3-gun I had a little bit of a gear bobble. I am using the choate shellholders/speedloaders or whatever they are called. To clarify, they are the block shaped carriers which hold your shells oriented correctly so that you can much more efficiently then from...

    Double 1911 OWB rig

Yes, just like in Face Off. Where is there anything even remotely like that or is it going to have to be done as a custom job? I am trying to figure something out for Halloween and want to try to get it done quicker sooner then later to avoid a time crunch. I hope you guys can help, I have tried...

    Petsmart tumbling media?

I have included two pictures of some corn cob media I found at my local Petsmart. Is this one of the one's you guys have used instead of commercially labeled tumbling media? Damian

Different powder for use with PPM

I have been using Unique for my handgun loads for a little while and am getting tired of the leakage that occurs when I use the PPM. Obviously, I should get another powder measure when I use this powder, but instead I want to experiment with another powder just to spice things up I guess - not...

Power factor load for .38 Special IDPA

I wasn't sure where to post this, but what loads have you guys that shoot IDPA with a .38 Special come up with that make minimum power factor? Damian

    .223 with 77gr loads for AR15

So I have been loading for .223 for a little bit now and a question has popped in my head that I may have wanted to ask before now. I have been loading to an OAL of 2.255 in order to facilitate fitment in the magazines. Now, every manual and online loading information I have found says that your...

    Cleaning dies

What do you use to clean the inside of your dies? My main concern is my .223 resizing die which I cannot fit a q-tip into to get out all the built up gunk in there from the last couple thousand rounds. I am using Lee dies, btw. So how do I either a) take them apart to give them a good cleaning...

    Loading an older revolver

I have a 1946 S&W Pre Model 10 Snub and want to cook up some loads for it. I have the manuals, but I want to know if you guys have any experience going real low in the charges for these older models on your reloads. I am using Unique at the moment, any suggestions as for a change in powder...

    What smaller tumbler?

What smaller tumbler have you guys had good experiences with? I have been doing the boiling water cleaner method, but want to get a tumbler now for the brighter finish. Only thing, I only reload, at most, 200 rounds a week. So I don't really have justification for one of the larger tumblers...

Good powder for 9mm and .223?

I am trying to pull from the collective minds in here if anyone has had good luck with getting good loads from the same powder in both 9mm Luger in particular 124 gr and .233, particularly 69gr and up loads. I was thinking of giving Titegroup a shot but figured I would if anyone else here had...

Plastic v. Metal or in harmony?

Edited to add: This is regards to handguns only, btw. I was just having a discussion with a co-worker about this, and according to him those that shoot metal guns do not like plastic guns or even hate them. After hearing him out for a little bit, I proceeded to tell him how I have a 1911 and...
