Springfield Armory SAINT revealed (It's an AR)

I love me some ARs! But dang... Also, in regards to the firearmblog.com review. If you make an AR and use hand-guards that melt off the gun after some basic rapid fire work, you didn't properly QC the rifle when you should have.

    torque wrench?

If you don't want to buy a larger torque wrench, most auto parts stores have tool loan programs and you can borrow one for free/a very low rate from a lot of stores (or at least I've had good luck with that).

    RIP RC Model sad news

He was a real class act, helped me out on several occasions. He will be sorely missed.

    Real Walker???

Maybe he really doesn't know... But why would you gamble on selling a gun for a few bucks, when it could be worth so much more? Although as for fraud... he is not deliberately marketing it as real so he is covering his bases there.

Tavor X 95 or Higher end AR 15?

I'm weird, but id buy the Tavor (or X95) in this case. My main reasoning, everyone has an AR, and I like being just a little different. If money is an issue, buy a nice AR. But if the budget is not solely driving my decision, I like being a little unique. Well, that and id love to have the X95...

Need opinion with choice of scope

I have 2 Vortex PST scopes, a 1-4X24 and the 6-20X50 FFP. Amazing scopes and I would highly recommend the 6-20X50 (the PST or FFP option may or may not be worth the money to you). I'm sure there may be higher quality glass on some other brands or cheaper options for what you are actually...

    Your favorite milsurp rifle?

For me you cant beat the Springfield 1903s. To me they are just a pure joy to shoot and own! The k98 is a close second. You just cant beat a good Mauser bolt action!

    Ruger warranty.

Perfect change to buy a peep sight and upgrade. Id expect to pay for a new sight regardless, so why not just spend a few more bucks and get a better one. I love the 10/22, but the factory sights leave a lot to be desired.

    New Ithacas M37s?

While I think its great they are making them again, its a mixed bag. You can still buy the old ones for cheap. Its hard to make an expensive pump and have it sell well when the market has so many cheaper alternatives. That said, I appreciate the finer things in life and if I wanted a new...

    mossberg 590 reliability?

Ive put a few thousand rounds through multiple 590s, never had a problem. They just work. Ive also never had a standard 500 not work, so...

Custom 1903 Springfield Build is complete!

That is a very beautiful rifle! I always have had a soft spot for the 1903 actions.

    Kimber 82 Question

Not sure if this is helpful, but I have a very well worn 82, and its glass smooth on opening and closing. Only thing you could try is a good cleaning and then re-oil the action and bolt, but it may just need some wearing in. I second the accuracy part though, these things are so accurate its...

    Old and Under Rated 9mms

To me my favorite 9mm handguns are the old steel frame 3rd gen S&Ws. Ya sure, they are heavy, but gosh darn they just work. Its easy to overlook them in the world of plastic 9s, but ya, sometimes the old steel just feels best.

Looks an awful lot like a Marlin Goose Gun...

    Mythbusters and Guns

They did try it with a smooth bore, nothing they could do to the gun or bullet caused the bullet to curve. They got keyholes, but the bullets traveled in a strait path for the entire range.

Best speed loader for a Model 10?

I like the Safariland ones a bit better. The HKS are great, they hold up well and everything, but Im not a big fan of having to twist the knob to unlock the rounds. But if you have never shot a wheel gun with moonclips, you owe yourself to look into having it cut for moonclips. Hands-down the...

    Smith & Wesson 686 Plus

In my opinion the absolute easiest way to learn reloading is with a 357mag revolver, loading 38spl loads. Then if you enjoy it, move onto the more challenging loads. Its forgiving and extremely cheap. Not to mention you will enjoy the heck out of it, the 686 is a quality piece. They are accurate...

Glued To The Bench--a growing trend?

I shoot a lot from a bench for one main reason. Its how I relax after a stressful week. I can get serious, I focus my mind on one thing, my target. Nothing else matters, nothing else worries me. Pursuing that legendary half MOA group is like therapy for me, it can remove stress and allows me to...

AR advice, pick two to pass on.

For me its a Magpul grip and a trigger. Ive played with a lot of different triggers and don't really have a favorite, but a good single stage trigger just rings all my bells.
